Higher and Lower Mind

Every human being has both higher mind (called good or pure) and lower mind (called bad or impure). The higher mind needs to be gradually developed and strengthened through the practice of calmness, tranquility, self-restraint, and association with the wise. The following story of two wolfs illustrates the higher mind and lower mind in every human being:

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

The revolutionary new book, Building a Noble World, by Shiv R. Jhawar can be of immense help since it helps readers get rid of the impurities of mind.

Shiv, you remind me so much of Deepak Chopra, who is a great teacher of healing the mind and body. You also have a very honest and compasionate face, and I love reading your work so far, and this story has a lovely moral to it, and makes you think. I will be following your future work with interest.
I live in Wales, UK and just at the moment I am following the outcome of "Shambo" the sacred bull at the temple of Skanda Vale. He has an order on him to be destroyed because he has been tested positive for TB., and even though he is not in the food-chain, the authorities still insist that he should be put down. I have been to see him because the temple is only about 20 minutes drive from me, and I can report that he is kept in excellent condition, and he's a very happy creature, and much loved by the monks, and all of us who show an interest in his welfare.
If you like, you can visit his website at: http://www.skandavale.org/shambo.htm
All the best with your work.

Kind regards, Louisa
