When I was on the dating scene about 10 years ago, I met a man online that I thought I could get serious about. But after the fourth date he shocked me with a question that I REFUSED to answer with the truth.
He wanted to know how many men I had been with? How experienced was I in the bedroom? Now mind you, I was in my mid 40s at the time and had a child so that should’ve at least told him I knew a little somethin’–somethin’ about sex. But he wanted me to give him a ballpark figure of the number of men I had been with over the course of my life. I just told him I was a virgin when I got married and my husband had been the only one. Of course, that was a BIG, FAT LIE but I didn’t feel it was appropriate or necessary for me to tell him anything about my sexual habits.
According to researchers at the University of Massachusetts, women lie more often about their sexual experiences by minimizing the number of partners they’ve had. My questions is, why should we tell anybody? Who should care if you’ve had 5 or 15 lovers? The only person who needs to hear the truth is your gynecologist.
