Today I watched from overseas like many of us---the pain and horizon of the Grand Daddy of all Marathons, celebrating the winning times of ~2:10 (men) and ~ 2:26 (women) noting in visual admiration ---the smiles and cheers of all present and participating.
Today, in a blink of an eye, I also re-lived the memorable horror of bombings in Afghanistan brought home to Boston, in senseless acts of violence, churning in questions answered, and hearing cries still fresh in a whirlpool of emotions.
Today is a national tragedy brought so close to our homes and minds. Today is also a triumph of the eternal running spirit, the spirit that sets us free, unencumbered by events.
