Another Love Poem story. Valentine's Day is coming. Oh well. ;)
He said he loves my poetry.
I said “Thank you. I didn’t know you are into poetry.” (flattered)
“Oh no. I don’t know anything about poems and stuffs like that.”
“So why do you like my poetry? Do you understand what I write?” (curious)
“Er.. no. Actually, I don’t understand any poem that I’ve read. Except maybe for that “I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree…”
“So why do you say you like what I write when you don’t understand it, much more you’re not interested in poetry?” (insulted)
“Because I like you.”
“Oh.” (blushing)
“I like you that’s why I like what you do, what you write.”
“But most of the things I write suck. I just write to feel good. “ (humbling myself)
“No. I know you write very well. “
“Yeah right. Like it comes from an expert!” (sarcastically ashamed)
“I know it. Because I know you. I know the real you. I’ve seen what you can do. And you’re a wonderful person.”
“Oh. But still that doesn’t count. It’s not fair to praise my work when you don’t even know all the crap I’ve been writing!” (annoyed and surprised)
“Even if you write something really bad about me, I would still think you’re a good writer. I’m sorry. That’s my opinion. You have to respect it.”
“Ok. As if I do have a choice. But tell me you like what I write when you finally write a good poem.” (appeasing and realistic)
“I don’t have to. This is already poetry to me.”
“Huh?” (say what?!?)
“Our conversation is poetry to me.”
WOW. (like WOW!)
“And you’re the best writer I’ve ever known. I’m planning to read you for as long as I could.”
“Thanks.” (feeling stupid and silly; that’s it? say something other than THANKS you idiot!)
Then I left.
This was from a guy I really like. He’s my bestfriend. He has become my number one fan.
I realized he’s more of a poet than I am. Funny. He doesn’t even write letters.
Oh well.
Romance and friendship always a disaster.
I’ll live. Like his poetry…

| Interesting conversation. For sure, this guy likes this girl. No doubt about that. When you are first in love, everything about the person you love is perfection. A few people manage to hold onto that MAGIC through life but most don't. Sad! Maybe that's why so many people are always looking for love. Being in love feels good when the other person loves you back and it isn't a secret. |
