Dyann’s Drive Home

The swirling winds outside her vehicle could almost cause a smaller car to crash or collapse. She gripped the wheel tight and hugged the road. Geez, it seems to be icier than she expected. Her SUV, continued jostling her inside, while climbing the semi- circular gravel approach. She was getting closer to the house. She caught a glimpse of glaring headlights as they passed her in the rear view mirror and then alongside her. Unbelievable, she thought. First he tries to blind her, then he almost succeeds in driving her off the winding road. Normally she didn't react like this to an unknown driver, but it was becoming harder to handle her vehicle, not because of her driving skills, the other drivers were kooks! She laughed out loud at her thoughts. Man am I getting old! She looked at her self in the mirror, as another car drove past her. I don't have any wrinkles she looked. Just a good imagination. Laughing softly to herself, yes that I do have. She loved returning to her home, that jutted over the Bluff. It was a magnificent older house with vaulted ceilings and turrets and despite its age, was very well kept. She couldn't believe her luck, when her Great Aunt had bequeathed it to her. She loved returning here, Summer was her favorite season. Last year  Dyann decided to live out here full time. Sometimes it could  feel isolated, then otehr nights, when the moon was full, the ocean waves came alive. She could imagine the beauty that hooked so many sailors. She felt comforted, as she knew her neighbors and everyone certainly knew her. There was no mistaking her trademark tumbling copper curls. Another glance at the mirror, well what a fright! Now if anyone saw how disarrayed she was! She silently chuckled. The Icy snow was driving, and almost catapulted her Jeep Wrangler off the road. She was glad to be almost home. Looking at her watch, its almost 10 pm. Where the hell did the time go? Did it really take her 2 hours to get to the top of the Bluff tonight? Ahh, but it will soon be worth it, she reasoned. Two more months till Spring and then it seems like the whole town awakens from its frozen Winter nap. By some accounts this area was called "The Bluff" because of its beauty and  Victorian charm. With its jettied curving and hiking road, it was also called "Widow's Peake" or "The Pointe".The road on nights like this had been a treacherous mistress, wreaking havoc and twisting cars and causing some to jump the barriers, into the icy waters breaking below. The aged rocky mass just stood silently in attendance, as the waters edge lapped hungrily and furiously around the breaking bluffs. The waves danced, with echoing crescendos against the base of the house, as she pulled her red Jeep to a final stop. "Ugh! Thank God! What a nightmare this drive was." Stopping for a second, then began removing her things from the vehicle. She fle tlike someone was watching her, and turned quickly around..No one was there. She thought someone had been waiting for her. She took a step forward, peered down the Overlook. The Breakers were going wild in the storm. The snow was late for this time of year, yet she loved the serenity it offered. How beautiful everything was going to look in the Morning! She collected the rest of her things, mostly business papers and portfolios. There must be a million things she had to review. She couldn't wait to get inside and glow in front of that magnificent fireplace. It had cost a fortune, but it was always one of her favorite things. She withdrew all the mail, and carried it inside. One legal sized envelope, above all the rest, stood out in eye catching blue. She glanced at it, didn't ring any bells, and just laid it on the hallway table, with her other things, then continued to  move throughout the house. Little did she know, that the opportunity of a Lifetime, lay waiting for her, in that envelope.

Dyann Comes In & Chills Out

Dyann was a voluptuous copper haired stylist and interior designer. Her Aunt had nicknamed her Babe, after her favorite  female athlete, Babe Dedrickson. Babe had been a professional golf athlete, trailblazer, and a woman ahead of her time. Her Aunt Abby noticed grit and determination in a young Dyann, and the moniker just stuck. No one knew she would become flame headed tremptress as well. "What a fright I am," said Dyann aloud, as she glimpsed all of her five foot, seven inch frame, in the hallway mirror.  Little did she know her  life was about to change within a matter of days. This can all wait to be sorted until Morning, and from the looks of it, seems like the Snow is going to plaster us inside for quite some time! Babe said aloud. Nights like this, she really missed her Aunt. They had spent so many days gardening and baking in this kitchen together. It was several months back that her Aunt Abby had crossed over, and on evenings like this, she still felt her presence. She began removing her clothes, and thought  about a Brandy toast in front of ther fireplace, as she had dome so many times with Abby. Hmm, what  the hell could be in that Blue envelope?  She stroked it with her fingers, and then heard running, and the barking of her pets. "C'mere guys!," she whistled. Bounding around the corner, was her lovely English Sheepdog, Maximus. He was handsome, playful and had a real personality! He had been a successful showdog and sometimes she thought HE lived better than she did! Along with him, came her other favorite, a striking russet haired lassie like herself, an Irish Setter named Cleo. She had been given to Babe on her last Birthday. They were both evenly tempered and always up for a bit of mischief.  Rounding out the group was her favorite kitcat, Tuxedo. He had been a gift from a younger client, who was a gentleman in all affairs, so she felt quite correct giving this black cat, that name. His small softly naped white hair at the neck, actually made him look like he was wearing a tuxedo, hence it was a befitting moniker. "HEY Guys!  Yes I am so glad to see all of you again! What shall we do tonight?" Barkings and Meowings filled the Kitchen, and followed her every step, as she made her way into the living room, or the Study as she loved to call it. This is where she came to retreat from the world. Babe's own little corner of the Universe where everything waited for her. Gosh its good to be Home she thought. The Victorian styled Windows bore a frosty pane of icy white and snow seemed as steep as some of the homes along the edge of town. There was a tremendous amount of light, as the windows were, floor to ceiling, and the warmth of the Fireplace, would really make things toasty warm. She carefully set some logs in and stoked  the fire. Ahhh She thought, how wonderful. The dogs calmed down and lay in front of the blue fieldstone fireplace, almost in agreement with her. Dyann had added modern touches throughout the house, like the  smaller fireplace and jacuzzi tub, in the  master suite, french doors in both the bedrooms and study, along with skylites,  and her favorite inspired design: an oversized Tiffany styled stain glass panel window. It was the exact size of the  other  windows, and was gorgeous in early morning and on sunny days. She and her associate, JD, had overseen the renovation and interior design. It had been a clever gift, in her favorite shades of  sapphire, teal, mauve/rose and cream. He certainly had been right about the layering of fabric, and heated tiles, especially on cold, frosty evenings like this. She caught a glimpse of lights twinkling in the house directly across the way. Hmm, well it seems I finally have a new neighbor, she blinked, quite surprised.

Past & Present Lives

It had been a long time since the house, formerly owned by the ailing Captain, had been visited, and then it had been sometime since Captain Hammond, passed on that anyone was even remotely interested in the House. Disarray and disrepair with a good dosage of neglect, had really caused the beauty of that house to lose its shine, thought Dyann. She remembered, as a little girl, how her Aunt, would bring her over to see Cappy, as She called him. He used to hug her and call her his little water princess. He had artwork of mermaids and pirate ships throughout his home. He gave her a pastel, 36" x 40",  he had created for her, shortly before his death. It seemed to bring some familiar comfort, as she remembered those wonderful days. He had wrestled many stubborn seas, and finally homesick, for the maiden whose heart was tattoed, on his chest, he finally joined her, in a peaceful slumber, at the ripe old age of 79. He was a genuine Seaman, with tales larger than the waves he rode and described. "I wonder who the new owner is", said Dyann to no one in particular. "This could be a mighty cold evening, if they aren't prepared for the gusty winds and the hale blowing snow." Suddenly she heard a loud banging outside, like one of her shutters had come loose.  It was so loud, it has to be someone knocking on the door. The dogs were barking and began  jumping, just  as Dyann opened the door. It felt like Deja Vu as she looked into the face, of someone completely familiar, yet unknown to her.  He looked like a younger version of Cappy. Babe gasped loudly, as if seeing a vision. There he stood, approximately 6 foot 2", icy dark hair, filled with chunks of snow, red cheeks, and a body stacked in feathery Down, and with the broadest , warmest smile,  and twinkling bluest eyes , Dyann ever saw. He extended a gloved hand, and said, " Hello. Might I come in? This storm has really been a douzy." he said.  "Oh Mmigod! Who are you? " She stared  in complete disbelief, as he slowly removed himself from the storm. She thought she was seeing a ghost, as she pinched herself.  "Come in," she heard herself say.

Siren of the Seas

"My name is Connor; Connor Logan. The Captain was my Uncle. I've just moved in, and it seems to be a helluva storm. Much worse than I anticipated. I've lost some electricity and thought perhaps I could use your phone and call for assistance. Would that be alright?"

"I'm sorry,I know its impolite to stare, but you are the spitting image of Cappy. That's what I called him. He and my Aunt  were very good friends. Cappy spent many evenings regailing us with stories of the Sea Witch. " Dyann's mouth dropped.. "I am happy to meet you, Im Dyann, Dyann Morrison, Abby's niece. Glad to meet you, Connor!" "Here. Let me take your coat, and come sit by the fire. I'll make you some coffee and be happy to let you use the phone. Don't you have a cell phone?" "Yeah, but the battery is dead, and I saw you pull up awhile ago,  and didn't think I'd be waking you, unless I disturbed your husband? " He glanced around. "I am the third generation daughter to own this lovely home, Connor, " Dyann smiled, " so if there is a husband here, I'd like to meet him too!" She teasingly smiled. God she has incredible  green eyes, Connor thought. Im glad she's not married, but probably has a boyfriend lurking somewhere. He looked around lost in his thoughts, and then recognized the drawing hanging over the fieldstone fireplace. "That's Cappy's artwork, isn't it?" he smiled broadly, as he stared at Dyann, watching her move about the room. She  wore black jeans, no shoes, and a white boxy knitted sweater. he couldn't be more attracted to her simplicity. Dyann  felt as if Connor were looking right through her. She was pouring coffee for them both. "Yes it is. It was a favorite of mine. He gave it to me many years ago. Just something familiar about it, that makes me feel like he never really left." "Well, I can see why," said Connor. " He drew you right into the picture. See here?" He asked, moving across the center of the work, "Here is the lovely red headed Sea Princess, otherwise known as the Siren of the Seas!"  Dyann stared for the second time in the night! She couldn't believe what her eyes beheld. There attached to the bow of the ship, as was the custom of the day, was the lovely face she saw staring back from her bathroom mirror each morning. Connor continued,"She was a long red haired Siren of the Seas, as my uncle would say, and she was well, voluptously carved and mounted onto that ship. Look here " he pointed out.. Dyann couldn't believe it. There she was, the Sea Princess or the Siren of the Seas.  All this time she was drawn to this place, and never knowing that this original artwork held the key to her past, as well as her future. What else would she discover she wondered.

Getting to Know Each Other

Connor continued to stare, completely bewildered.  Meeting her had been completely unexpected. "What's wrong why are you staring at me like that?" Connor shook his head as he apologized,"I'm sorry Dyann, it's just that you're so attractive, his drawing doesn't do you any justice. It's just as much a surprise to me, as it seems to you. That's all." "Is that right?" she whispered as she offered him something to eat. Connor continued.. "My uncle was an amazing artist but he could not capture your true beauty." She smiled as she returned with two more cups of hot coffeeand warm Irish Soda Bread. She handed him a cup as she sat down next to him. "So Connor, what's your story?" she asked sipping slowly." what brings you out to the Bluff, during one of the  biggest snowstorms of the year? He shrugged his shoulders as he answered,"There's really not much to tell, besides perhaps a few more stranded neighbors may come knocking. Feel free to put me on guard, along with your dogs, unless your boyfriend has already filled that job description, " he added slyly. She chuckled, "Well I sure hope not Last time I looked hon, I was single".  Her face broke into a broad grin. He IS flirting with me. Exactly the answer Connor had hoped for, as he was looking forward to getting to know her better. Connor and Dyann continued to talk as hours flew by, and then he stared up at the clock. "Would you look at the time! It's already 3 in the morning.I apologize for keeping you up so late". Dyann smiled as she shook her head, "I've really enjoyed our chat, Connor. We are a small, well knit community. You are brave to want to face that storm again" He nodded as he clasped sed her hand within his, "The pleasure has been all mine Dyann, it's not everyday I get to spend time with such a beautiful woman." She nodded as she squeezed his hand, "You know, you really should stay the night. I mean the power is off in your house and it's freezing outside". "I couldn't impose on you like that, Dyann." Dyann shook her head as she pointed to the couch. "You're more than welcome to sleep here on the couch Connor, you will have more than enough room." He nodded willingly,"As long as you are sure it's not an imposition. He willingly offered to cook up a  very special gourmet breakfast for us both. Is that fair?" Dyann silently grinned, and before she could utter a word, he continued.. He then whispered in her ear:  "  if you could handle someone of my talents in your tidy kitchen.."  Dyann rolled her eyes, "Okay Okay, curiosity has the better of me. Let me gather some blankets and sleepware for you. "Thanks, Dyann. You've shown me so much kindness I don't know what to say, me being new and a stranger, you know? I just want to show my newest friend and neighbor, my gratitude for this evening. " He was broadly grinning now, and could tell he captivated more of her attention. Dyann flashed him a great big smile, as she disappeared into the hallway, returning with Grandma type pillows and an overstuffed goosedown comforter. Martha Stewart would love them! "Think nothing of it. Besdes it wouldn't be very neighborly of me to let you freeze to death now would it?" She grinned. Connor felt the real warmth of the fireplace as he bunked down for the night,on the big overstuffed sofa. It was very comfortable. He had felt a very kindred alliance with  Dyann, whom he knew less than a day, yet it seemed they knew each other their whole life. He stared up at the painting over the fireplace again. "Cappy, old man, what have you done now, old timer? You always leave something hidden. I wonder what it could be this time. " Connor took a last sip of coffee and noticed the wet and icy condtions that waited for them the following day. He watched as Tuxedo the cat, climbed onto the tier above, and nestled with him on the sofa. Connor rubbed his ears, and heard him purring. He could sympathize. "Ah yes Tux, I feel the exact same way," he mumbled. It had been a long exhausting day, and there was a lady to impress in the morning.

Dyann Has a Dream

Connor decided to spend the night, and Dyann had seen to it,that he was bunkered down on the comfy sofa, with a roaring fire and a marshmellow warm down comforter. Her cat, Tuxedo, curled at his feet, and Connor couldn't recall when he had a better feeling about someone or something, when everything around them seemed to be spinning out of control. It seems the roads were blocked for miles, and the storm seemed not to be letting up. In fact, the storm was worse than had been predicted, and was one of the worse storms The Pointe had seen since the 1920's. Holy smokes. He pondered if Dyann had known the degree of the weather conditions as he gazed outside. Well, either way he reasoned, he would be available to help her in anyway she needed. He smiled and thought to himself, Connor, old man, you seem to have the luck of Cappy in your blood, when it comes to women. But Dyann isn't just any woman he thought, and smiled, as he drifted off to sleep. Dyann was in her bed, aprawled out all oer her big queensize bed. Large, plush and comfortable. She loved her job, and she was notorius for detailed work. She recently hit a strong string of sales, and knew how to work with her clients. She was creative, clever, and disarmingly charming, a real triple threat. Men were jealous of her ability, but then they would stare at her red hair and contrasting green eyes, they just melted away, along with her clients. Of course, cleavage and curves in all the right places never hindered her either. . "Well, Cleo,  whadd'ya say, we call it a night and just head off to sleep? " she said to her dog, as she turned off the light. The day began to fade as she  began to sink into a deep sleep. It had been  very eventful. She was tired, and yet Connor had sparked something in her, she felt something restless and yet she felt cold. " It's just the weather outside, I'm sure it will calm down by morning." She noticed that it was hailing again, and raining . Thunderstorms sounded off in the distance. "Cleo, I sure can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Its been a long day." Cleo barked softly, in agreement, and jumped  into her favorite sleeping spot, right next to her owner. Dyann fell asleep. Finally. It rained throughout the night- so deep the thunderclaps woke her from a deep slumber. She couldn't believe it. Dyann felt disoriented. She began checking and looking around. Oops! I fell asleep with my contacts in, again. Damn!..She was truly shaken up, ahh shaken AND stirred..too much James Bond, Dyann thought aloud . She jumped slighly as another jolt of lightning..angrily appeared. Outside she heard a crackling sound, it was ear splitting...the hairs were standing, along her spine..goose bumps all over.  She noticed her unsteady knees wobbled a bit. Again the menacing sky lit up! more banging and clashing against her french doors and windows. It went on for what seemed like an eternity. It was electrifying. Shadows danced around the room. She stood shivering in the darkness,as the lights blinked, then went out. She noticed something strange had occurred.. she felt this still coldness.. This blanket of cold, light air, as if someone had entered through her balcony door, which was tightly shut. This coldness hovered, chilling her throughout & then she felt it  breeze right through her..She couldnt see a thing..Dyann's hands were clammy..as she blinked over & over again....nothing!! "I never miss a thing!, thought Dyann. It was gone. Her heart skipped beats, and her satin pjs were stuck like a second skin and she shivered again. She found an odd shaped candle on the oversized table, & lit it up. As she looked around, it occurred to her. This wasn't her familiar home. She silently thought to herself..I forgot something..where did I put it? Nervously Dyann glanced around, in disbelief, in the unfamiliar setting, as silent hysteria began coursing through her. Darkness was settling in. Somewhere close she could feel it's  power, encircling her. She tried to recall more details. Maybe this is one of those out of body experiences? Hmm I feel myself pinching me. Nope! Still Dyann couldn't remember..Where WAS it? Oh God!! She was lost and couldn't remember what she was searching for. Alone, she was really alone for the first time. No one, nothing...where was I? hermind drew blanks. She could feel her body tensing up. Why can't I remember, Dyann began to press her memory. She felt her throat closing little by little. She felt HIS presence again, coming for her..darkness, creeping, an icy cold, commanding presence, cold as steel...She tried to remember.. blinking, she realized she was not alone, anymore . Dyann screamed loudly and as she did...she fell backwards and continued screaming!!! Her voice, caught in her throat, She was  terrified, and she kept feeling herself falling, plundering dark depths. She was falling backwards, unable to pull herself up. She heard herself screaming!. Terrified, she pulled herself up and she awoke in her bed.. breathing very hard...perspiration beading down her face.. checking..yes, yes, still in my satin pjs. She got up,, barely walking into the kitchen for some water, she checked  the clock, it was 4:47am to be exact..and as she tiptoed the kitchen tiles, the raging cloud storms let loose with more frightening bolts of thunder. She shuddered..shaking a bit.. remembering her dream.."Oh migosh," Dyann realized she was awake and now was not alone! Screaming as loud as she could muster, she opened her eyes, wide as saucers, and turning around, she faced Tuxedo. My cat! He had followed her, down the long hallway, into the kitchen. Relieved, she bent down to share some water. As she crouched in the darkness, her eyes caught the reflection of a large  odd shaped candle, cradled in an ornate silverplated holder...Its smooth round edges glistening in the darkness .. beckoning to her - Inviting her to come closer & light it..

Dyann makes a Discovery

Connor awoke from his sleep,at the sound of what he thought were screams, only to find Dyann in the kitchen, hugging her cat, and what appeared to be little fits of laughter and tears.."Dyann, sweetie.. What's wrong? What is going on? " He puts his strong muscled arm protectively around her, and helped her over to the sofa. "Did the storm wake you up? It's reported harsher than they originally thought." he offered, carefully sitting her down."Connor, I don't know what came over me. Normally I've seen storms worse than this.. I.. I " her voice trailed off. She shuddered for a moment and pulled a blanket around her, and noticed how comforted she felt by his presence . "I was asleep and then I dreamed I was falling and screaming, then I felt this very odd presence.. like cold steel, only icy cold.. I have no idea what it means.""I'm sure it was just one of those dreams, Hon, you know? Everyone has them from time to time. Let me get you some hot chocolate, would that work, huh?" He looked down at her. He knew this probably wasn't any ordinary dream, he wondered what it meant as well. Dyann continued.."Connor? Do you believe in ESP and the ability for dreams to forecast events in your life? Did you ever have a dream- that was well- so real - that even when you pinched yourself, you felt awake and yet you could swear you were still asleep? It was the weirdest thing that happened tonight. I dreamt I was lost and in an unknown place, (looking around) and I was lighting this weird candle in a silver base, and then , (she closed her eyes trying to remember) and THEN, I felt like I was falling.. NO ! I was being pushed backwards, and I awoke from my sleep screaming... Did you hear me screaming ? ""Dyann? You mean before the Kitchen? No I didn't hear anything..but, but I'm used to sleeping soundly. I had very noisy college roommates.. he said *winking* at her.."Huh? Oohhhhhh I GET IT.. " She smiled. "It's just that it seemed too real, almost like in a Sayance sense, you know? Do you believe in a Sayance? The ability to for someone to channel spirits?" She drank some hot chocolate. "Nice touch of whipped cream there buddy," she laughed in spite of herself. Jinx was licking it off her fingers now..She continued.."But seriously, I know dreams, and I know this felt like something else.. It was all too dramatic. There was this candle, that was kind of beckoning me.. I know that sounds odd.. it was in this ornate silverplated holder..I'd never seen it before.. it was just so oddly shaped, you know?" "You mean, something like this, Dyann?" Connor had moved over to the breakfast table and was indeed holding up the very candleholder in question. There was a smoky quartz like candle in it. "YES, YES! THAT was in my dream. WHERE did it come from? Can I see that?" Dyann's eyes grew wide .Connor crossed back over to the sofa, and explained.."Dyann, I'm sure you must have seen me enter with it, or possibly seen it at my Uncle's house..Maybe it just triggered a story that he told you once, a long time ago. He was known for embellishing here and there, and talking up a storm about Pirate Booty and Buried Treasure. I know you've heard some of the same stories, right Sweetie, you think?"He noticed Dyann was calmer now, but turning the candlestick over and over in her palms, like it was a token of some kind. "Connor, you brought this from Cappy's house? I never saw it before, its beautiful in its ornate handiwork, and it looks like there are initials here of some sort..I swear I have never seen it. It smells like it was used. Why did you bring it? ""I stuffed it in my pocket I guess when you arrived. I was in a hurry to make sure I could find help tonight- and then forgot about it. Maybe you saw it on the table tonight and only recalled it in your dream. The mind plays funny tricks that way, don't you know? "He was rubbing her back now.. "I'm sure it's just a funny coincidence, and in time, we will both be able to laugh about this, say come Summer, when the Bluff just blooms with beauty, right Dyann?" He offered her a charming smile. Dyann smiled back in spite of herself."Connor, I'm really happy you were here tonight, but I Know what I felt, and it felt like MORE than just a dream. .. like ahhh (she thought for a moment) like a forboding of something. My Aunt was known for her Sixth Sense..maybe its something she discovered a long time ago. I know I can't just shrug it off, it scared me way too much..I mean its not everyday I wake up and just start the day off screaming, you know? "She chuckled at herself,as her humor began returning and she felt more calm. "I mean, who else is here to listen to me scream anyway? My Pets? I don't think soo.." They laughed aloud, together." "Sometimes its so Windy, our phone service gets knocked out in Winter, which is why we all have cell phones as back up,'round here." Dyann sounded somewhat relieved."Well.. we certainly know - you won't be awakening the neighbors if you DO scream a little too loud, you know? " he winked at her again. God she was incredible in the morning, and not completely awake, and yet she totally captivated his heart. He had to know more about her and what this silver candleholder had to do with his Uncle Cappy."Dyann?," Connor offered softly, "If you are still upset and want to sleep out here- I understand - or if .." He was cut off.. "Connor? Actually, I was hoping you would ask.I am still slightly shaken, and would you mind, checking with me, my bedroom doors? I'd feel so much better, Please?Oh and one other thing.. is there a nickname or tagname, your friends call you, instead of Connor? " She asked as she followed him into the bedroom, her arm in his and holding tightly by his pinkie finger.."Yes, Dyann, as a matter of fact. They call me Handsome for short." He turned and grinned at her. "Oh brother," Dyann said rolling her eyes, " modest too." They laughed and laughed and it was good cathartic release." My nickname is Babe, after the female golf pro, you know? Babe Dedrickson? Really, what is yours?" They had established the doors were all secure, no rain had entered and Connor noticed the morning light was just about to break, over what seemed a very sleepy town."Actually, Babe, don't laugh, its Noodles. Given to me by an old old girlfriend.""Why, because you love pasta?" Dyann interjected."Nope.It's because I cannoodle so well, Babe. How's that? Hmm?" He stared down into her sleepy green eyes. "How about we get you back into bed again, now that the storm seems to have passed, alright Hon?" "Noodles? I'm not buying that one. Connie doesn't fit.. hmm I'll find one...Connor? Please stay in here with me,would you mind? We can light another fire..""NOW you cansee why its soo good to have me around..I'm handsome, cook, and can scare away the bad guys..Just like Mel Gibson..Of course it would be my pleasure, you just snuggle right here,Babe" Connor was fluffing up the pillows and tucking in the blankets around her..and continued stroking her forehead till she drifted back to sleep. "Babe," he whispered.."You have nothing to worry about as long as I'm around. I've no idea what this dream meant, but I'm sure we'll know shortly, and whatever it is, I will always keep you safe.." With that he kissed her gently on the cheek, and held her close, drifting off as well,as the fire warmed more than just their hearts.
