Flashshot #421
Fat toads covered with warts, skinny spotted frogs, tiny green frogs, all waited at the pond for the lunar eclipse to begin.
As a shadow slipped over the moon’s face, the voting commenced.
The toad croaked in protest. His uncle was chosen last year. Pick another amphibian. The frogs grumbled and sang out their choice.
All eyes turned to the tiniest green frog. He was usually overlooked because of his size. Not this time.
Shadowed by the fully darkened moon, a slight young man stepped from the pond. Croaking goodbye, he went to find a young maiden who would release him from this awful state before the next eclipse.
