The Sandusky children decide to write a letter to their father, in honor of Father's Day.
Monday, June 20, 2005 (one day late, but who's watching?? LOL)~
Dear Daddy~
We, your children, wanted to write to you to tell you how much we love and appreciate you. You have given us life, hope, and encouragement when life wasn't going well, and you give us love, direction, and discipline when we seem to need it the most.
Daddy, you have been a wonderful father to us, and we are so glad that you chose us to be your children! Granted, we MAY drive you crazy at times, but hey...we are only kids, and we can't expect to be good ALL of the time! LOL You wanted a family, and you knew that mama wanted kids after your three natural-born kids died, so God provided (oh, BOY, did He EVER!! LOL), and He brought us to you. We couldn't have asked for a better set of parents than what we have in you, and because of your love and guidance, we are turning out to be well-behaved men and women, and we are turning out to be the kids you always wanted us to be. We have learned about faith, courage, values, and all the good things in life through your Christian example of living, and we have so much that other kids lack. We are loved, we are very well cared for, and we have so much to thank God for whereas other kids are struggling in just about every part of their lives. They don't have the parental discipline or supervision, the love or caring needed to nurture their minds or hearts, or the values that we cherish so highly...they think that life is some sort of a "game", and they think that they are invincible when they are NOT. They don't know right from wrong, and they are always getting into various kinds of trouble, and they are tearing their families apart. How glad we aren't like that! We have hope for our futures, and we owe it all to you and mama!
We hope you enjoyed the cards and presents that we got for you, and we hope that you enjoyed seeing "Madagascar" at the movies. We also hope that you enjoyed your special dinner at the Golden Corral; you sure did enjoy that steak, didn't you?? You were in steak heaven! LOL We also hope that you enjoyed the special Father's Day sermon that Pastor Bruce Bilkey preached about yesterday at church, and we hope that you enjoyed the special dedication of all the daddies in attendance. We know you were embarrassed when we cheered and yelled for you, but we loved making you feel good, and we wanted to show the congregation why we think you are the BEST daddy around!
Well, daddy, we love you and we wanted to write, so we could wish you an extra special Father's Day. We just wish that Ronee' could have been with us to celebrate YOUR day, but she will be home in a few days, and what a homecoming that will be! She can give you her card and her gift to you after she gets out of the hospital! So your Father's Day isn't quite through JUST yet!
Take care, Daddy, and thank you again for loving and caring for us! We are so blessed in having you for a daddy!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your "village"..your kids. :D

| Sounds like this dear Daddy will be left in NO doubt as to how much, how deep, how wide and how high he is loved! And not just yesterday, but today, tomorrow and forever. You have portrayed a very sincere and tender portrait here, Karen... almost feel like weeping myself! Looks like his tender heart - and yours! - is catching! LOL Kate xx |
