Stinko. (Part Four)

"Stinko" writes in his journal while waiting for his doctor's appointment. (He has his yearly physical.)

Stinko here.

Guess where I'm at right now. I'm at the pediatrician's office. I have my annual checkup in a few minutes, so this won't be long, not like my past entries.

I'm glad I got out of going to school today. I usually am not too keen on seeing Dr. Hamadi (she can make me feel like a dork at times, asking me the most embarrassing questions), but as long as I get a good report, then I'm cool. As long as it doesn't take all morning, I'll be happy.

After school (depending on what Dr. Hamadi says), ma is taking me out to eat. We're going to go to Ryan's Steakhouse, where I can have my favorite meal: sirloin beef tips with gravy on top, mashed potatoes, and baby carrots with celery sticks. YUM!!

Then, after we go out eatin' at Ryan's, ma is taking me to the video store, where I get to blow some of my birthday money on some favorite DVD's. I would like to get "Ratatouille", "Happy Feet", and "Meet The Robinsons". I'm a sucker for cartooney type movies, especially all things Disney. Now "Happy Feet" ain't Disney, but it's still quite good.

I guess that means I'll be watching movies all afternoon. Maybe I can convince the parental units to order some pizza for supper; then we can have pizza--and a movie. (Or two, or even three! :) )

My room's clean, so I don't have to worry about that. Now, if we could only convince little brother to clean his room: it's a regular pig sty. Or it looks like a nuclear bomb toasted it. It's an ungodly mess!!

If Stevie doesn't try to weasel his way outta doing his room because of "his delicate condition", I'll be surprised. He'll do anything to try to get out of doing his chores. Guess who then gets stuck with the lion's share of the work: yeah, me. Good old Stinko!

I'm just a regular workhorse, as far as little brother is concerned.

This is when I hate his having his stupid special needs. If he were healthy, he wouldn't get away with half of the stuff he gets away with now!!

Whoops! Nursie is calling; it's time for me to go to get humiliated. I will write again another day. Hope I'll make out okay with Dr. Hamadi! (Oh, Lord! That did not sound right! You know what I mean! LOL) Take care and God bless; this is Stinko signin' outta here!

~"Stinko". :)

Hey Stinko, be cool, I had two older brothers that ganged on me always telling Mom that I was the culprit, and they got bleeding noses for it, so, never mind the lion share of the chores, think about bleeding noses and not getting one.
Cheer up, after all, he is your little brother!!!

He's a fresh funny voice!! Great reading him. I love 'toasted' room, too. Plus, I'd like to go along to the steakhouse!! That's hard to beat. Cheers for another good one.

It never ceases to amaze me how you can make each one of your characters sound so different and make each one so believable. Often times when a writer writes so many things, each character begins to sound the same and the story line becomes the same (with only slight variations...) You have a knack for keeping each character and story line unique.

I am here....just want to share my predicament once more!!
Dearest Karen,

I just read your blog and with sadness in my heart I want to apologize for not leaving you as many comments as I use to!!

The simple reason is that I am so busy doing housework..cooking..doing the farmwork and collecting pigfood...I hardly get time to write myself. But I do read each and every person till the early hours of the morning. I get like 4 hours sleep per day trying to keep up with everything. And therefore my body is protesting at the moment. I feel like I am so close to a breakdown it ain't funny.
Please don't feel you have to stop writing okay!!

Love Tinka

Karen,

'Stinko' is a regular charmer - he's quickly becoming one of my favorites. LOVED how he inserted foot in mouth at the end (" ... make out okay with Dr. Hamadi! ....") All guilty of saying things wrong - know I am! Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
