Bosnian refugee (and now citizen of America) Slobo Trbanek continues to improve on his English, and he is happy to be back at work after a lengthy illness that nearly cost him his life.

Greetings!

This is your friend, Slobo Trbanek, writing.  Hope this find you well; I doing a lot better than was last time I write.

I back at work now at store; good to see boss, working-friends, customers again!  Everyone worry about me, pray hard for me; prayers must have work because I still here!  :)

I have flesh eating sickness that nearly kill me; it go into my hips, tried to go in arms, up my sides, but doctors find way to stop it, and I was in hospital for months.  I still not quite where I need to be, but doctor say I well enough to work, so I work again.

Have to take it slow, one day at a time; if I go too fast, I could get sick again; I don't need that, no!

I have lots of heavy scars on body; don't like to wear shortened sleeves or short pants; people stare at my scars, make me uncomforable.  I also itch if I sweat or get hot; it's horrible!!

I still walk on crutch-sticks, but lately I use my wheeled chair, as I get tired too fast.  It hard to walk with no legs; my arms get tired!

I waiting to get fake legs, that way I won't need crutch-sticks; they not done yet.  It take long time to make fake legs for people; they have to be just right or they don't work.

In the meantime, I use my wheeled chair or my sticks.  Have to be patient, yes!

I still go to English school, as does mama, we learning new words every day.  My writing getting better too; I write better than I speak English, but at least I now understand more of it.  We love it!  I always look forward to learning more English!

Mama, she loves it too; when she talk of school, her face lights up, and she look like little girl!  It's so cute to watch her!

Other than work part time or go to school, I no do much.  Slobo Trbanek have a very boring life.  I don't go out much; too hard to get places by wheeled chair or on crutch-sticks!  So I just stay home, play on computer, read, watch stupid programmes on telly.

I sorry if I no have more exciting life; maybe when I get done with English school or my fake legs come and I learn to walk on them, things will change.  Until then, I wait.  *sigggh*

Well, I go make soupa now.  Mama and I have cabbage-and-potato soup; it stick to your ribs, make you fat.  :)  I will write in here another time; until then, this is your friend, Slobo, saying bye-bye for now!  Be good and may the God bless you always!

~Slobo.  :)
