Kenni Denise Harlinger, now 11, continues her story.

Howdy from Hope, Arkansas!

It's me, your friend, Kenni Denise!  I can't sleep: am sick in bed with a bad cold; this stupid coughing won't let me get some decent sleep! Arrgghhh!!

I got sick the other day; I've been miserable since.  Stupid little sisters had colds and they decided to be nice and share it with me.  Thank you SOOO much, Tori and Blythe!

Other than that, I'm doing good.  Had a good Christmas; got an iPhone and new CD player to replace the one that Blythe broke last fall; also got some cool clothes and some new music for me to enjoy.  I got to sing that solo for church and I loved it when the people clapped for me after I was done singing!  I always get such a thrill when people enjoy my singing!  Singing is my favorite thing in the world to do and it would make me happy if I could be as famous as my favorite singer, Loretta Lynn!

I do get teased at school, though: people seem to find it strange that I, a little 11-year-old girl, would like someone like Loretta Lynn instead of someone like Taylor Swift.  She's okay, I guess, but I prefer the older singers.  My mama and daddy love the old country music, and it's what I was raised on (that and southern gospel music).  It's the only kind of music I know, and even though the songs might be about adult situations, the music is still good, and I love the melodies!

I don't know why people have to tease: I don't tease them; then why on earth should they tease ME??  I don't find it very fair or right!!

It's gonna be Easter soon.  I'm thinking about chocolate bunnies and yellow (or pink) chicken peeps; the thought of it all makes my mouth water!  I'm also thinking about the solo I will be singing during the church's Easter presentation.  I'm not nervous; when it comes to singing, the stage is where I'm happiest because it makes me forget about bratty sisters or kids making fun of me!

I have some big news: Mama is pregnant!  She found out around Christmas; that means she's three months pregnant now!  She is starting to show and it's all very exciting!  I personally hope she has a little boy; I mean, I already have two sisters!  I would love to have a boy around here; that way, poor Daddy wouldn't feel so left out!  She should find out something by May or June.  Oh, I hope she is having a boy!!!!!!

Well, I'm gonna go back to sleep.  It's way too early for me to be up.  Good thing I am sick, so I don't have to worry about infecting all the other kids at school!  I will write in here again soon; hopefully when I do, I'll be over this cold!  Take care and may God bless you; this is your friend, Kenni Denise Harlinger, singing off!

~Love, Kenni.  :)

Nothing wrong with loving traditional country music. Hope she sticks to her guns and enjoys whatever music she loves. Well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
