Sandusky's Story. (Part One)

A boy with a unique first name shares his story.

My name is Sandusky Wilson Hughes.  I am 11 years old.  I live in Granbury, Texas, with my Mama and Daddy, as well as my two younger brothers Simpson Daniel and Sawyer Phillip, who are 8 and 5.  I have an older sister as well, Sabrina Ashley, but she is going to college in Idaho; she is 19 years old.  There are four of us kids.

I am in the fifth grade; I will start sixth grade come September.  I will be glad when school is overwith and done for the summer: I am more than ready for summer vacation!

I am a typical boy: I love to play sports (baseball, soccer, volleyball, and football are my favorites), draw, read comic books, play video games or write stories on my computer, annoy my younger brothers, play with my dog, "Spitsy" ("Spitsy" is a mutt; she's part American Eskimo and Blue Heeler), and hang out with my friends.  In addition, I love to go to concerts; I love country music over all other formats.

My best friend is named Maxmillian (Max).  He is my age, but he's disabled: he's in a wheelchair or walks on crutches (for short trips) because he was born with cerebral palsy.  Still, that doesn't define him; he is more, much more, than his crutches or wheelchair!  He is very smart and can get into more trouble than I ever could; he is full of salt and vinegar, as my grandma likes to say!

Sometimes kids will call me "Sandy" for short, but I tell them my name is SANDUSKY.  I don't know why I got such a weird name, but I happen to like it: once people hear it, they're likely not to forget it.  I guess I was named that 'cause I was born in (where else?) Sandusky, Ohio.  All us kids were 'til Mama got homesick for Texas (where SHE was born) and we moved to Texas two years ago.  Texas is okay, I guess, but I really love Ohio; it's all I have ever known until two years ago, and I miss the seasons ... and BASEMENTS!!!!

In addition, I miss the snow and cold and the trees turning vibrant colors in the fall.

Well, I gotta go to my next class, which is Math.  I hate Math; I absolutely suck at math!  I will write in here again soon; I hope you enjoyed reading about me and my life!  'Til later, this is Sandusky W. Hughes saying so long!  May God bless you always!

~Sandusky, your new friend in Texas. :)

I like Sandusky's name and story, Karen. Wouldn't it be funny if Sandusky belonged to the Sandusky family? LOL :) Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
