Even with everything I have taught them or the time and energy spent with these kids, I fail to see little (if any) improvement in their skills as football players.

That's right: we, the Gordon Park Fighting Eagles,  lost another goldarned game this past Saturday.  The other team, the Punkin City Gophers, drilled us 56-0.  We might as well not have showed up for the game!

We played more like a group of dying buzzards!

Problem is, the kids I coach at the current time don't seem to have any common skills or retention of memory.  It's like whatever I have taught them or showed them has gone in one ear and out the other.  I know these kids aren't stupid; I just don't get why we keep getting creamed week after week after week during the football season!

I swear the football or the goalposts themselves are a lot smarter than the kids I am coaching this season!  You would think that with some of them being the size of elephants (or just about as smart), they'd somehow "make the connection" and make some magic on the gridiron, but nothing doing.  It's like they get out there and once they see the bright lights, or the people in the stand, they freeze or turn into statues.  

They ALWAYS freeze!!

I don't know what's wrong with these kids I'm coaching, but one thing IS for certain: if they don't get some fire put underneat their tushes and fast, I just might have to quit my position as their coach; I have had it with losing every game!!  I am a coach; I'm supposed to be coaching WINNERS, NOT a bunch of sore, seemingly uneducated WIMPS!!!!
