When the word Easter is mentioned, we immediately picture in our mind, - Easter Egg Hunt, New dress, New shirt, beautiful hats, everyone smiling, food and more food. Easter Sunday is really more than these things.
It is the day, Jesus rose from the dead by His own power. Easter is the day the New Covenant starts. Some 2,000 years ago, Jesus died on the cross in our place to pay for our sin-debts by shedding His blood on the cross.
His shed blood now covers our sins, past, present and future. The Father no longer sees our sins, He sees only Jesus' blood over us. We are now righteous in the eyes of the Father. We can now talk to Him directly. The veil separating us from the Father has been torn from top to bottom. We now have direct access to God!!! Hallelujah !!!
Therefore, there is now no more condemnation to those who are in Christ. In other words, do not allow the devil to remind you of your past sins. They are forgiven. Your heavenly Father no longer sees or remembers your past transgressions. We are wiped clean like white snow. Including our future sins. We must now walk in confidence.
No more worries about the past sins. Do not spend time in regrets of previous tansgressions. You may not feel it, but believe it by faith, you have been liberated by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Rejoice my friend.
We are no longer under the Old Covenant (the 10 commandments). We are now under the New Covenant. We are now under the blessings of grace (unmerited favor). The 10 Commandments still exists. It is a guide for us. It shows us that we really need a Savior, Jesus Christ. The closer you are to Jesus, the more you want to comply with the ten commandments. Just do your best. You are already saved if you have been born again.
Favors or blessings we do not deserve, we did not earn. These blessings are the free gift of God. All we have to do is admit that we are a sinner, repent for these mistakes and turn 180 degrees from our wayward life and ask the Lord Jesus to be our Lord and Savior.
Forgive yourself and move on. Rejoice. Regret no more. You are a New Creation. God said so. This is the meaning of Easter.
