The cycle of living light and the fear pof the night

                  The daily battle.

How quiet are the woods as they march to the base of the rugged Rocky Mountains, with their lily white snow heads peeping through the swirling clouds to glimpse the twinkling stars that sit in the dark voids of space. The mist in the valley covers the ground, swirling, running, jumping and sometimes unmoving, yet is as thick as fog, just waiting for the happening to come.

Suddenly the sun tips the mountain and flashes her beams of light across the land, throwing out silver and golden rays here, and there, slashing at the mist and darkness, sending both closer to the ground as though they try to hide.

Mother sun, grows in strength as she rises from her sleep, sending her bright rays to plunder the darkness below her, seeking out the blackness wherever it may be, causing its retreat into the bowels of the earth where it will once again wait until she drops below the horizon as she moves away across the land and seas bringing life, to those lands.

The Lord of Darkness smiles from where he hides, knowing he will sneak out yet again tonight and bring fear and unease to man.
