Success Story |
|
|
Success is something I never expect to achieve since I'm never satisfied with anything I do, believing there's always room for improvement, and tending to take milestones in stride.
If I can open your mind to new possibilities, if I can manipulate your emotions with but a few carefully chosen words, if I can help you envision the strange worlds and denizens of my imagination with all the clarity with which I experience them, then I'd say I'm well on my way to achieving my writing goals.
I appreciate all feedback, good or negative, never taking things personally, always interested in how other people interpret my dreams. My aim is to entertain, and should I fail at that then I'm fully prepared to start everything over from scratch. I'm not out for fame or fortune, though I wouldn't necessarily turn either down. I love what I do and to be able to share it with others absolutely thrills me. It is my goal to make my stories and poetry as accessable as possible, so I'm always seeking the least expensive ways anyone can get hold of my works. I'd prefer to never work under contract or with deadlines, pumping out drivel for paychecks, but would much rather take my time with a decent story, polishing and honing it until I feel it is ready for widespread release.
Everything I do, I strive to do well, attempting to give my readers the best possible experience I can for their money. Anyone with a few hundred dollars and access to a cheap publisher can call themselves authors nowadays. I don't want to be a part of that 90% of POD writers who try and push talentless crap on unwitting book lovers just to grab a check and be able to boast about it.
My progress is slow, but steady, and that's exactly how I like it. You won't find a one-hit-wonder here. I will never try and publish a book I haven't let age for a couple of years, let strangers read for an unbiased opinion, or think is wonderful at the very first draft. Call me a craftsman, an artisan, or a perfectionist. Email me your complaints about my books and I'll gladly refund 100% of your money back. That's my guarantee as a genuine author and not some eager beaver with cash to blow, a basic story idea, and no talent to write it at all. |
