Speaking of thrills . . . the first thrill here was learning that my novel "Hollywood Nights" was accepted by a publishing company, it has since obviously been published. Knowing it was accepted by the publishing world really did it for me, I made the cut, I mean man I was walking about a foot off the ground for a week! Then the second thrill, which by the way had totally caught me by surprise. A friend who I'd given my very first author's copy of the book to had unbeknownst to me passed it along to a major hollywood producer/distributor whom he currently works for . . . who I might add has produced several well known feartures and M.O.W. The producer who for the time being wants to remain anonymous I.E. name and company wise that is, immediately read it, liked it and advised us he wants to buy the the film rights to and complete a feature or a movie made for tetevision out of it sometime in the next two years! He wanted to do it sooner but he had other projects in the pipe-line ahead of it. Needless to say, you bet I can wait twenty-four short months, for cryin' out loud are you kidding me!
As a retired LAPD officer I wrote the fictionalized novel based on actual events . . . through my eye's only. As far as privacy issues are concerned, everything in the novel has been altered to a ceratin extent, thus making the actual events and officers that were a part of them unidentifiable.
Coming to a theater near you . . . with fingers crossed in L.A. |
