I have been writing since 1990. However, probably like many of you, I received rejection letters by the score. I had so many of them that I could have wallpapered my house with them. Yes, most were encoraging but still there was no offer of publication. Yuk!
Many times I felt like giving up. Then I decided to write as a hobby instead of trying to gain recognition.
The break came when I was very ill with Ulcerative Colitis and after 10 years, realised that surgery was the only way forward to stay alive.
I tried to find books that would answer the many questions that were going through my head. However, I could find very few.
I therefore decided to keep my own notes and when I was recovered, put pen to paper. Bingo! I sent my book - ALL BAGGED UP, away to Pneuma Springs Publishing and they accepted it. It was published February of this year.
I was elated and wanted to tell everyone in the world. You know the feeling.
Since that great day, I have had 2 children's books THE WISHING BOOK and THE WISHING BOOK 2 - RETURN TO MARS accepted and published.
I've still a long way to go and a lot to learn before I can say I am successful but at least I've made a start.
