I have discovered that the best way to sell books is to meet your audience.
I attend all local craft sales and participate in our local farmers' market every Saturday from July to October. There is no better sense of achievement than seeing someone walking away, clutching one of my books and looking pleased about it.
I even get feedback, which is almost always positive and downright encouraging. It is these moments that keep a writer going as it's a lonely and often a discouraging career, unless you are lucky enough to have a best seller of course.
My goal for 2009 is to complete two more books and hopefully one of those will be a best seller.
