This book also highlights the therapeutic and effective benefits of daily writing.
"Journaling"... stresses the highly positive and effective results of daily writing over time.
Writing about challenges, such as prolonged illness,or the unexpected, tragic death of a loved one, can help keep us from becoming overwhelmed. Thus journaling will allow us to begin the long process of healing. "Journaling:Twenty Plus Reasons"...,is the result of the author's daily journaling over the past thirteen years, and counting.

The quotes at the end of most chapters act as short summaries , and the questions ending the chapters are included to be used as spring boards to the journaling process.

Excerpt
Chapter Twenty-four:Journaling through Pregnancy and Birth
For all moms who are reading this chapter, I know you lovingly remember the birth of each of your children, and although each birth was different, they all had one thing in common:Your baby boy or girl was being added to your family,as well as to the larger human family, because of you.
If this is your first pregnancy, congratulations! It is definitely a time of bonding with your baby, the time to prepare yourself in every way to welcome your little darling into this big, wide, wonderful world.
This is an excellent time to begin journaling,if you don't do so already.
Why don't you use this time to identify your great hopes and dreams for your baby;it would also be helpful to journal about the fears and reservations(if any) you have.Be completely open about what you feel you can and cannot do for your expected bundle of joy.
Through journaling during this special time in your life, you can gain needed insight as well as convictions about how your little one is to be raised.
Don't be afraid to be open about your doubts and fears, but do not let them hinder you from being ecstatic about what is happening in your life.
Allow journaling to be the bridge that forges and strengthens that bond that will last forever between you and your child.
Use journaling during your pregnancy to identify everything you desire for your baby, and when the time is right, you will know it;share the journal entries with your child so that the bond between you can grow even stronger.
Whether you're having your first baby or your last, journaling during your pregnancy can be the one thing that you and each of your children can share for a life time.
"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children.
One of these is roots;the other, wings." Hodding Carter

Thank You for Writing this Book!
Thank you so much for writing this book!I love everything about it,including the cool color artwork and the clean lines.
This book is easy to read;the language used is quite simple, but when I started reading, I found it hard to put down.
First of all, the title is intriguing because I didnot believe that there were twenty plus reasons to journal.Of course I found that to be true.I also love the personal experience in many of the chapters. I was able to relate really well to the author's experiences.
Reading this book has motivated me to begin journaling.
Since I know the author, I am going to update her on how my journaling experience is fairing.I am also going to share the book with people I know.
