I have encountered unperceivable situations and through faith cupped with determination, have been able to tackle them head on. My life was pretty much laid out for me in a format that would be pleasing to most. I wasn't anything extraordinary, a simple woman, married with two children with dreams and aspirations. I was confident at my work and became a successful business woman. I loved life and welcomed challenges. It seemed that everything I had strived for became a reality. Being ambitious was the secret to my success. October 1998, I discovered that my confidence, ambitions or goals, were powerless to rescue me.
Excerpt
It’s so easy to be enveloped by hopes, fantasies, anticipation and yes, even promises. We are so repeatedly taken in by beautiful dreams and unfounded assurances. We sail through these ripening seasons, without much sincere concern for the future. Taking everybody at their word and preferring, to neglect our hereafter, we take for granted the energetic and optimistic lives we lead. Me, I was no different. From age fifteen to my mid twenties, my feet didn’t touch the ground. I was young, hearty and somewhat, green. I didn’t budge too much, in my foresight of the future. I was self-assured and dauntless in assuming my prospects to be ideal. Why not? I’m just a youngster, in spirit anyway. Let the older brood worry about tomorrow, cause I sure ain’t. The simplicity of my youthful dreams, soon vanished as I awaited the call from The Family Clinic. I was now, a matured woman of twenty-eight, whose teenage ideals were as distant as the sun. All of a sudden, the energy and gumption was stripped from my body. I quickly realized that life was fragile and even I, was vulnerable to its untimely wrath.

| I loved your book and had to call you as soon as I read it. Great writing!! I was standing in the hallway as little Hilary was born and held her soon in my arms to dedicate her back to God. Lovely memories. I can't wait to come home in June for my retirement, and to come and visit with you and share. |

| The realities of 'equipping oneself' for intimate sruggle and perseverance through the timelesss unknown are beautifully portrayed in Joanne Blundell Marsh's A CHILD OF THE KING. Uplifting and encouraging, her tale, though sad at times, is better than many arenas of public worhsip in its directness of will and personal resolve. Joanne gives us her will of endurance, a mighty asset in an oft too cruel reality. This work is a true mark of the radiance brought about by the refiner's fire. --- Stephanie S.
