Take a big step into the world of a real-life Private Detective...
EXERPT:
...His eyes were almost crossed as he looked at the bright orange color of the front sight. And it was positioned not more than one inch from the bridge of his nose. Tony Boy knew exactly what it was. It was so close to his face he could smell the oil from its last cleaning.
I was holding a black, 4-inch Colt Python .357 magnum in my left hand and gently pulled the hammer back. It was then that fear took over Tony Boy's mind as he felt his bowels loosen.
I stood alone in the street and inhaled the scents of the city. The Italian deli on the corner smelled of pepper steaks and pizza. The snow was still falling on the darkened, wet streets. I walked to my gray Pontiac Grand Am and searched for my keys. It wasn't until that very moment that I realized the Colt was still in my hand.
I reached under the right side of my leather jacket and replaced the weapon in its holster, securing the thumb break. My hands were shaking as I stared out through the snow covered windshield and tried to control my breathing...it was the fear. The fear hits you harder after the job is finished. I closed my eyes and re-lived the entire extraction of the young, brutely beaten boy.
Taking the kidnapped boy out of that building and watching those three punks crap all over themselves was very, very satisfying. Now, if I could only stop my demons from coming again.
They would come and visit me again tonight. There was little doubt of that. They were with me almost every night for the past several months now. They were my demons, my inner demons; the ghosts and fragments of past cases. They tore at my very sole and tried to rip away my sanity. And now Tony Boy would join their little club. Another haunting entity that would try and enter the deepest fabric of my mind and soul.
Shit! Just another day in the life...
The insanity...The total insanity of it all.
And then they came. They invaded my inner self; my very soul. They came in the night and surrounded me. All of them began pummeling me with their blatant lies and vicious laughter. They began to taunt me, shouting out streams of continious, vile remarks. I could see her there, staring at me...smiling. "I'm the piece of your puzzle that just won't fit!" she said, with a sly smirk. "And there's nothing you can do about it!"
Now they took turns with their torment, stabbing me with their own guilt and deceptions. They filled my head with the fears and hate within my past.
Suddenly, I heard a roar, like a freight-train coming towards me. I looked up and saw the giant thing hovering above me. It was cast in bronze and turning a dingy, puke green in color. It took hundreds of my demons to push it towards me...all of them screaming and laughing.
"Wake up!" I shouted, "Wake up!"
Blood began to flow from the monstrosity, and covered me with its sticky sweetness.
"I know what you are!" I shouted. ""I know you, you blind piece of shit!" Slowly the herd of demons tipped the giant figure and the blood came pouring down.
"Take off the blind-fold you bitch, and let's talk about those scales you carry!" I screamed in pain.
And then the giant mass began to fall. I watched it as it got closer and closer. My fears held me to my bed; the demons holding me down and laughing.
"The scales of justice are upon you!" they sang, "All the live long day."
I looked up at the falling mass...and slowly closed my eyes.

Excerpt
Private Detective Joe Tofuri is in a boardroom of a very large legal firm in Boston. His purpose for being there is the potential for his agency to be placed on retainer by the law firm, and investigate all their criminal defense work.
He is standing near the front of the room surrounded by 15 attorneys, who are seated around a huge oak table.
The CEO of the firm is dictating policy to Joe in an arrogant manner.
When CEO is finished with his briefing, he asks Joe if he has any questions. Here is Joe's response:
..."Three things, Mr Nolan. The first thing is simple. You scheduled this meeting for 4 o'clock and kept me waiting for almost 45 minutes. I despise a lack of punctuality especially from an individual as arrogant as yourself. Second, I don't work for secretaries, paralegals or your cleaning lady. And thirdly, and most important, Mr Nolan, you're not worth one more fuckin' minute of my time!"
Climb into The Ninth Commandment and read witness interviews to several cases, actually transcribed from tapes used to develop the manuscript for the book.
It's called "Fiction" only because names, locations, dates, etc, were changed. What you read concerning the judicial system will absolutely stun you!
Discover what it takes to be a P.I., and venture into cases you just won't believe!
Trust me...it will shock you!

The Ninth Commandment
Dana Smith from Texas said: Although this is not my type of reading material (my husband bought it), I could NOT put it down! This author is sooo different from your regular shoot-em-up type Private Detective authors. This book is non-stop from begining to end, and absolutely loaded with emotion. And, most important, its written by a real private detective! The characters are purely wonderful, especially ROCCO! Is this book true? I strongly recommend this book to everyone, and I mean everyone!
Purely fantastic reading!
I could NOT put this book down! The excitement begins within the first few pages and just does not stop! This private detective novel rivals any mystery I've read in the past 10 years. The author writes with a great deal of emotion and his characters are outstanding! I will never forget Rocco!!!
Thought provoking...Masterly Exciting!
Normally authors of these type books miss the actual reality and seriousness of the business, mainly because they don't live the life. In this case, the facts and reality were too close not to have insight in the life. The book was thought provoking and masterly exciting, even to an old retired 22-year vet cop like myself.

I've just read the extract above on this page: it is so very vivid. I can sense the fear in the street - and I 'm terrified by the nightmare. It could get under my skin.
Obviously, this book has not been written by an author who uses his imagination only - it is written by one who has had "battle experiance". |

Outstanding!

Mississippi (9/21/2002) This book completely eliminated any thoughts of a bathroom break! I was looking forward to the normal, "I get the blonde" type of private detective novel. But, to my surprise, this book has completely changed the concepts of the average, everyday private detective novel. It was breathtakenly wonderful! When the author began describing the "scents of his neighborhood", I could almost taste the Italian food. His characters are purely wonderful. It won't be long before people all over the country are talking about "Tony Boy" and "Vinny the T". A great read.
