This novel by David Snowdon, has all elements to keep its readers engaged until the end of the book. It’s a suspense filled thriller woven in the background of “Run for Life” plot. When the news spread, that the War Criminal Anton escaped from prison, the different agencies around the globe tried to capture and take him to their own country, this created the much needed swiftness in the story and there were no any boring events or dialogues in the book. Even though it was a serious story, the author did not fail to tickle the funny bone. Overall, we get a feel of watching an action movie. I look forward to read more of similar books and add David Snowdon to my favourite authors list.

‘Coin for a Killer’ by David Snowdon literally drove me crazy. Since I had already read its prelude ‘The Mind of Genius’, I was expecting David’s engaging storytelling would have a strong grip on my mind. And I will have to say that this book did not let me down! The best part about David Snowdon’s writing is that he will bring to your notice every little detail, helping you picture every character and the entire story in your mind. A quickly yet perfectly unfolding thriller like this one is thoroughly enjoyable to read. The story begins with a hustle of top security agency agents to find Anton Okienka, a murderer who has escaped a high security US prison. The escape of this man has created ripples in the intelligence agencies across countries like USA, Australia and England. The top class intelligence agents and their vivid descriptions create an action packed environment and generate suspense as to what will happen next. The clash between agents Shooter and Clay of the MI4 are entertaining. Colin Shooter is one of my favorite characters in the book. His character has been shaped in a very crisp way and his temper issues as well as his shrewd ways of handling Anton’s escape has been put into words rather wisely by David Snowdon. Fred Carmichael and Jackson Jones lighten the intense plot from time to time which earns them some brownie points. The hunt for Okienka begins like a storm but is faltered from time to time as Okienka is too good for the best intelligence agencies in the world. A must read for those who would give “more than a coin” for thrillers like these.

From the first page of the book, I couldn't put it down. The author immediately puts the reader in the middle of the action and it makes the writing irresistible. After Anton, a spy wanted around the world for war crimes and espionage, escapes from prison. Every international intelligence agency immediately wants Anton captured and taken back to the respective country to be tried for the crimes he committed. The author does a great job of showing the politics involved and the plethora of egos that came to the table to try to capture Anton. The CIA is pitted against a supposed ally to try to catch Anton. The CIA and the British agent, Clay, are pitted against each other in a constant battle of egos and politics. Anton uses this to his advantage and plays off their weaknesses. The author does an incredible job of providing never ending action in conjunction with well developed characters that makes this book a true Spy thriller.

I never once lost my interest while reading this incredible novel. The author does a superb job of developing the characters throughout the story. By the end, I felt truly attached to Anton. Anton Okienka escapes from prison and immediately has every major international spy agency on red alert. There are plenty of close encounters, but it is genius the way Anton out thinks and out maneuvers these intelligence agencies. Anton reminded me of a rogue James Bond; a vivid picture was painted in my mind of a man in a tailored suit and being able to talk his way out of any situation. This is the first book from this author I have read, but I highly suggest checking out his other novels after reading this one. I guarantee you will be hooked and wanting more. 5/5 Stars for a book with never ending action; a true Spy Thriller.

"Coin for a Killer" by Author David Snowdon is a well written book in a spine-tingling manner as well as he had narrated the characters of the agents and fugitive in the most professional way, especially the conduct of the characters was described in a crystal clear fashion. Most significant part of the book is about the trueness of the agents, who all work together to capture the Slayer. The introduction of each character in the story is a treat to read. The author was keen on the accent and slang of different investigative agents like British MI4, CIA & other countries agents, as we can clearly spot the difference when we read their conversation. The story is all about special agents of CIA & MI4 striving hard to capture Anton Okienka, who is a most wanted deadly War criminal, espionage and murderer in most parts of the world. The character of agents Colin Shooter & Jason Clay is very interestingly narrated with the mirthful arguments and happenings between them. As well the dialogue between Sean Saunder and Yin Yin was catchy. The Entry of the Slayer Anton Okienka was given a hero's description, the author managed to bring in a value to his character. The climax was unprecedented and certainly needed applause for the author. It is a suspense filled fast page turner.

Coin for a Killer is full of thrill and excitement, especially the chase for Anton Okienka, an outlaw in the story is remarkable. The author explains each character in detail and brings in an importance to all. Big Jack, Fred and Clay roles were portrayed in a lively manner and were so impressive. The author had included several twists in the story, which the reader cannot imagine. That was another plus point for this book. Naturally, one could feel the anxiety and eagerness while reading this book; it gives a temptation to read it again and again. I wonder how the author managed to bring in so many characters, and yet established a connection with the story, without compromising on the thrill and suspense. Those who love adventure can buy this book.

'Coin for A Killer' is a thrilling novel of the espionage world which picks up right where there is a search operation of the precarious, high profile fugitive-'Anton Okienka'. Intelligence agencies and police force of several countries are in search of the dangerous fugitive, who does not remember the number of people whom he has killed. All that I loved about the novel are the exciting, unique and engrossing story line, brief crisp dialogues, simple language and several settings of UK, Australia,Paris, Netherlands, Spain and Hong Kong. David Snowdon has an unique way of introducing the characters. Further, David Snowdon has focused the novel on the intelligence agents and the protagonist-Anton Okienka, the killer.The novel takes shape in an interesting and exiting manner. There are as many as 30 characters or more and one can see the frequent changes in the setting of the novel. The most interesting part of the novel is the character of Anton Okienka that has been etched in a special way. The character strikes an absolute balance between the emotional moments and the elements of violence. I strongly recommend this book for thriller favorites.

"Coin for a Killer" is a real marvelous work by author David Snowdon, the hunt for one of the most wanted fugitive, Anton Okienka, was depicted in a nice manner in the book, the story moves in a steady pace but as the intensity increases, one could feel it while reading. I wish to read again and again and I am sure that each time I will get the same experience. I look forward to read more such books. The narration was excellent, Okienka - the main character is portrayed in such a fashion that it will be remembered in the mind's of readers for long. I felt like watching an action movie, the different locations highlighted by the author helped the story to move in an interesting manner. The story is so enthralling that makes the readers to complete reading the book at one stretch. "Coin for a Killer" is a must in the shelves of those who love reading thrilling, suspense and action oriented books. A special accolade for David Snowdon!!!

When war criminal and renowned killer Anton Okienka escapes from a highly secure United States prison, a world wide man hunt takes place, involving the best intelligence agencies on the planet: CIA, MI4, etc. This seemingly simple premise sets off an action-filled chain reaction. The author adds unique flavor and authenticity to the narrative by choosing to focus the book on the villain. All the ingredients for a tantalizing two-hour sit down are present: adventure, mystery, action, dialogue, and even periods of comic relief. In this novel, Snowdon strays away from traditional narrative elements by allowing the audience to experience the point of views of all the major characters. At times, readers are allowed to enter the thoughts of several CIA agents and former allies of Okienka; at other times, they are allowed to dive right into the mind of the protagonist and understand what could trigger such a tumultuous, volcanic explosion. By detaching himself from intimate relationships, Okienka makes it extremely difficult for any intelligence agency to find his whereabouts. Okienka is as sly as a serpent and if he’s going down, he’s going down on his own terms--that much is clear. For mystery and adventure aficionados, David Snowdon’s Coin for a Killer is time well spent and leaves readers amazed by the prowess of Anton Okienka.

David Snowdon, author of A Crime to be Rich and Mind of a Genius, among others, returns with a bang in Coin for a Killer. From the get-go, this novel is a page turner: well developed characters, intriguing dialogue, and a plot to die for! Rather than boring readers with pages and pages of back story, Snowdon thrusts his readers into the action with vivid descriptions and constant motion. He dares readers to hop on for a roller coaster ride that goes around the world, from Chicago to Hong Kong, to Paris, Australia, and even the Netherlands. Most of the “good guy” characters in this book are part of the world’s most prominent intelligence agencies like the CIA and the MI4. All of them combined, however, have failed to capture an individual who is not so much a fugitive, but rather a psychopath who relishes killing in cold blood. The persona of Anton Okienka, convicted of war crimes, espionage, etc. Ultimately, Snowdon has done a magnificent job in depicting both shades of human character in Okienka. Overall, the book flows seamlessly. Once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down. Interestingly, this notion builds up the anticipation and excitement, which sustains itself through the climax.
