He stood and walked to the window and looked out then turnd to face her leaning on the sink. "I got a court order to enter his house. Wanted to see if anything was wrong. Good thing I did," he paused as if making a decision whether to go on or not.
"There was a strong odor as we opened the front door. An unmistakable one if a person has ever been unlucky enough to have smelled it before. The stench of a body."
She caught her breath, "You found his body? Was it a heart attack?"
"No foul play for sure."
"You mean he was murdered?" she twisted in the chair then looked directly into his eyes.
