This book examines the matrix of American institutions, including politics, religion, our financial institutions, the bible, the family, the internet and our sciences, concentrating on modern physics theory.

The goal is to access how the values, ideas and histories of these institutions form the matrix of events and create the contours of the daily lives of Americans.

The format is “real time” in that developments in each area are the subject of my essays and blogs and, in that format, I not only report on how these institutions are doing real time but evaluate the enormous problems we face as a nation.

But going beyond this I make concrete suggestions on how these problems and issues can be solved and have the nation restore its resolve and regain its optimism.

I include also real-time stories inspired by real people and their reactions and life concerns as we all go through these “bad economic times”
The flavor of American resolve, I believe, is captured, in these personal stories put on paper.

The book starts with the rise of Barack Obama, his background, and my predictions as to how he would govern and with what effectiveness. Let’s see if I was correct in those predictions.

Excerpt

Second, the Federal Reserve Bank which is, most people don't know, the chairs of the major banks in the United States. Yes, those same major banks in which we place our deposits. If any thing goes wrong these banks put on their federal reserve hats and borrow the money from the federal reserve system which in fact can just virtually order that the money be printed up and give it to the banks (to themselves) at zero interest rate. And you thought the US treasury had control over the money supply.

So banks have a kitty which includes trillions of dollars, depositor funds, free federal reserve dollars, Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac, Sally Mae, and FDIC insurance if things go wrong and in the end the tax payer’s foot the bill for recurring financial debacles and no one goes to jail.

"Einstein, Religion, Poilitics and Liteature- Connecting the Dots: The Institutional Matrices of Our Lives (Volume 1)" is such a wealth of information and knowledge. The author has clearly done is research and spent the time to write it so it is helpful and easy to read. He discusses topicssuch as government, poilitics, religion and family in a way that causes ther eader to really think and absorb. He presents problems within these institutions and then offers solutions. he writes so that you feel like he is a friend offering his ideas so you can therefore agree or think how you'd do it differently. Either way it is fun to read and then analyze the problems and solutions. He structures the book in easy to read sections. My favorite section was, "The Middle Class, The Poor
and America's Future" The author is a very smart and very observant man and I liked how he analyzed this topic. I think the problems he presents as well as his ideas are ones we all can relate to as he tries to focus on issues that are in the news now, ones that we all discuss with our friends and colleagues. I know I really enjoyed sitting down with this book. It would be a great book to read with a friend!

"Einstein, Religion, Politics and Literature- Connecting the Dots: The Institutional Matrices of Our Lives." is a good book that every American should read. Lonnie Hicks outlines and explains the many problems that America faces today and then gives some solutions. He shows you how you can make a differnce in America and help solve some of the problems on a small scale. The informal writing style makes it easy for the reader to follow and understand the heavy issues. I liked how Hicks included some of his past work in this book and showed its relevance throughout. The poetry at the end was a nice touch as well. This book was very enlightening and motivating.

From Amazon.com
In the beginning of the book Lonnie Hicks writes, "Don't bring me a problem unless you have some solutions attached," reprising his words once used in his teachings. "Einstein, Religion, Politics, and Literature..." is a compiliation of essays written in a blog-like style. Following his own advice, Hicks very passionately and meticulously educates the reader on the mechanics of the political, economical, scientific, and spiritual institutions driving our world and America today, and reveals how they are all connected. He creates valid arguments, highlights the problems and offers realistic and empowering solutions. It is a very intriguing book; while it is a deep read with very real and fundamental topics, it's not difficult or taxing to read. Through this book, many can be educated on the important topics and issues that are often misunderstood and muddilingly voted upon. Hicks words are very inspirational, they grasp your reality from right under you and replace it with a fresh new perspective. Definitely a good educational read!
