You saw the title and were curious. You either relate to it or disagree wholeheartedly. This book presents my opinion that God is absent from religion.

The general thesis is "... a viewpoint from MY experience that God plays second fiddle, if any fiddle at all, in a church setting or the veneer of a church, giving way to people with their agendas, vendettas and personal goals. This forces people who are seeking true solace through a church to give pause and think that there is nobody there to help them when they most need it."
Excerpt
So if Christianity is all inclusive, and I felt ignored then I also felt (and still feel) that I am disconnected from God. If I were to send God an email, I am sure it would have bounced with the message “Mail undeliverable”. Some people would say that “this was a test from God”, or that “God won’t give you more than you can’t handle”. Some denominations even say that God allows some suffering, but won’t allow other suffering, based on the circumstances. The fact of the matter is that I did suffer. Whether it was God’s choosing or not is irrelevant at this point. I suffered, but yet I managed to fight, find treatment and now I’m going on with life. Whether God is a part of that or not, I don’t know. All I know is that save for the mental health professionals who supervised my treatment, and the people that I went through treatment with, my journey through the dark was on my own, or at least it felt like I was on my own.
