BEFORE DARKNESS FALLS Retails for 14.95 / but you can have it now for only 11.95 This is a book of poetry and prose that deals with real life issues that all of mankind comes to face. Some of the poems deal with the tenderness of love, while others speak aloud of social injustice. In this, the author attempts to reach the heart and the soul of the reader through poetic verse, which at times deals with the terse emotions of loss through the passing of a loved one and the joy of knowing that this earthly separation is just temporal. For a much greater hope awaits those of faith. In some instances, he presents a fascinatingly dark side of the individual soul and its remorseful cry for salvation. It is upon this foundation that the title Before Darkness Falls came into being. For it is through darkness that the light of truth shines its brightest. The author through his words holds forth this light in a sometimes darkened world.
A world filled with prejudice, a world full of strife. Yet even in this, life's darkest moments, there is faith, hope and charity, with the last being greatest.
For through the many storms that life has wrought, and the trials which asail mankind, there is always the seed of hope, the light at the end of the tunnel. It is these storms that have provided fuel for the verse contained within these pages. It is the authors hope that inspiration can be culled from these words.

Editorial Reviews
Product Description:
J. Allen Wilson's writings contain a large reflection of many of the unanswered questions of life. They weave a tale and pose the ponderous question...What if? They reach out with empathy and a love for all, and entice the reader to do the same. Often they touch on areas that sometimes we, as humans, try to avoid, yet at the same time draw the reader into this world and bring about an understanding. Love and loss, along with sometimes dark expressions of human nature, are evoked in J. Allen's writings. Yet, astonishingly, even in this, there is hope.

"Before Darkness Falls" by, J. Allen Wilson, February 19, 2005
Reviewer: Tracey O.
"Before Darkness Falls," opens the closed hearts, souls and minds,
bringing an enlightening awareness to the beauty of precious life, filling all
with a desire to reach out to all to respect, help and admire.
Allen places himself in all realms of emotions of life, passionately
conveying them so tenderly.
His pen presses against the paper differently in each poem, yet maintains an ever touching, graceful continuity.
His words bring to the surface all the emotions anyone may feel at some
point in their life. Eliminating the segregation of society with the appreciation for all life, as was equally given. "Before Darkness Falls" touches on
controversial issues, bearing both sides with a hope to lessen the
selfish actions of haste. Completing with poems that frolic with the gaiety of refreshing love.
He brings forth the joy of love, hope, light and comfort that longs to
dance and blossom in everyone, to fill the emptiness of times in life that is
all too easily filled with darkness.
Allen's sensitivity seen with the eyes of his heart, flows directly to
the reader's, as if the same blood flows in the two.
"Before Darkness Falls," leaves the want of more, never to stop reading. If
this exquisite collection of poetic artistry, with the special personal
introduction to each poem, was read by all, the darkness falling now
upon us, the bloodshed, prejudices, selfishness and negativity would extinguish itself, uniting the world, with peace, happiness and the springtime of love, to fill and consume each heart, soul and mind.

In the introduction to this book, the author asks the reader to join him in pondering this thing we call 'life' through his poetry.
I've just completed this journey, and it was well worth every page. J.A. Wilson's poems cover all aspects of life, both the light and the dark, both the hope and the despair, both the joy and the sorrow, and perhaps, you, too, will see something of your own life in these pages. |
