Excerpt
Of all the strategies God used to deal with Israel before Jesus came, mediation was probably the saddest one. When God created Adam and Eve, He hoped for a never-ending loving
relationship with them. God and Adam were Father and son, not to mention friends. After Adam disobeyed, God had to create an elaborate plan just to keep in touch with His children.
Imagine your earthly father hiring someone to help him communicate
with you even though you live in the same house! You are mad at him and want nothing to do with him, but for no
reason. Your father sends people to your bedroom everyday to tell you how much he loves you and can’t stand living without you. He goes out of his way to show you that although you
constantly hurt him, he is not mad, but is willing to do anything
to win your love. Then at some point he decides to stop sending people to mediate between you two because he can’t take one more day without you loving him. He decides to come to you
himself, knowing fully that you have a free will and might use it to reject him.
