Toronto Canada comes under viral attack - killing thousands and threatening a meltdown of the Canadian economy. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police' Anti-Terrorism branch, headed by Keeno McCole and his team, go into action to stop the catastrophe facing Canada, and America as the virus starts to spread across the border into the USA. The crisis mounts, and when it couldn't get any worse, McCole and his team discover that the virus attack is just a precursor to something far worse, and that human experimentation of this new weapon is about to be unleashed on Canada. An action-thriller which takes the reader from Canada to the USA, China to Europe and deep into the Canadian northlands as this new Canadian crime fighter and his team race against time to save a nation and freedom.

Excerpt

The boy moved without a sound, entering through the kitchen door, where he saw his mother pressed back against the sink with blood streaming from her mouth. Hunched over her, with one hand squeezing her throat, was his drunken father. In the other hand he held a knife, poised above her. He screamed and ranted, saliva spitting out of his mouth as he did.
The boy closed the distance between them and without hesitation drove the scissors into the man’s right thigh, pushing on them with all his strength. Blood gushed out, spilling on him and onto the floor. His father howled and screamed like a wounded animal and fell back against the kitchen table, which collapsed under his weight. He thrashed madly at his thigh, trying to pull the scissors from it.

Professional Reviews

Author, Linda Lavid - on INTRUSION
In Intrusion, Keeno McCole, special anti-terrorist agent with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, pulls a thread unraveling an international plot of technological domination that threatens to change the course of humankind. Fast-paced and suspenseful, Réal Laplaine delivers a terrific story. - Linda A. Lavid, author

Laura Z - review on INTRUSION
I had a good time reading this book and following Keeno through all his escapades, gun fights, and travels. I enjoyed the story, the plot and sub-plots, Keeno's relationships with the other characters (especially in his early years with his uncle), and the shoot-outs and knife fights. The interspersed action kept the action going. Keeno reminded me of some of the larger than life heroes I like in books by Cussler, Frank Miller, Michael Connelly, and some manga and graphic novels. I thought it was interesting how the author took simple concepts like viruses and RFID chips and took them in totally different directions I wouldn't have thought of. Put your feet up, use your imagination, relax and enjoy. I'll be waiting for book #2.

The Midwest Book Review - on INTRUSION
Terrorism knows no borders. "Intrusion" follows head of RCMP Anti-Terrorism in Keeno McCole. As he pursues his lead through the world, he finds that life trying to save lives may not leave him any attempts to live his life for himself. But to stop a truly devastating attack that could change the world, Keeno must be willing to sacrifice it all. "Intrusion" is a riveting and fast paced novel, recommended.
