Excerpt
Hello Babe,
Can I still say that now you're gone?
How's the weather blowing?
My parade is soaked and shivering,
The band are stomping struggling but there's no fu***r listening,
Beating out of time my heart can't take rejection,
Dear John sliced me open now I have no direction,
I had some aspirations high hopes for life now taken,
If I begged you'd pity and I'd take that in the short term,
If I roared you'd listen but eventually you'd deafen,
How to play the game?
My friend said I should soften,
But growing up here's hard the bottom rung is razor sharp,
If I dropped my guard for love then I'd get torn apart,
So glide your marble staircase,
I'll climb the splintered wooden steps.
