Abigail hunched a shoulder. She tried to deter Joseph's rousing fingertips, and he thoroughly enjoyed seeing the nearly indiscernible pulse jump at the base of her neck as she beseeched him to quit.
He blew smoke opposite her. "You don't want me to."
He was right, but forget that, she needed to ask if he was upset.
He watched her lick the lips that he wanted to lick. "Should I be?"
"I don't know," she replied, and licked again because her mouth felt dry, and so like the glowing embers of his cigarette. "But I do know that you don't smoke, unless you've really had it."
He shrugged because she was right. He had nearly reached his end. He wanted her, and she played games, almost. So purposely, he stubbed out his cigarette, having decided on a course of action.
Swiftly leaning over, he licked her exposed shoulder.
She sat unmoved though, through sheer force of will.
Therefore, with a hand on her breast, sensuously he kneaded. He also skulked, open-mouthed up her neck. Yes, he wickedly mused, nibbling the underside of her chin, in a moment, she would know he could move her.
Involuntarily, Abigail shivered, and begged Joseph to stop.
He did not, knowing the hunger, and the need lurked, just beneath her calm façade. With a hand at her back, slowly he rubbed, up, and down, soothing and arousing her, before he gave a bountiful hip a squeeze.
"When I make love to you...tonight Star," he predicted, his voice mesmeric, "I am going to fill up your body and your mind."

Absolutely beautifully written
I'm a big fan of Ms. Marquette's work and TURNABOUT is a beautifully written masterpiece. Ms. Marquette writing delves deep into emotions that are not easily written or discussed, heartbreak, death, friendship, and the glory of love. I couldn't put down this page turner and wanted to sob with Abigail during her difficult moments, cheer her on in her happier moments, pummel Darre (goodness, what a horrible individual!), and secretly urge the romantic and oh-so-decent Joseph on with the each chapter. This is a lovely, lovely story that is worth reading again and again.

This book is hot!!!!
saw an online review by paranormal romance author Tamela Quijas. She called this book, TURNABOUT, a fabulous read. Well I just had to get this book, and it IS fabulous. There's glamor and - stuff. Oh is it GOOD! It's sexy and it keeps you turning pages, all night. It is very touching too. I loved the two main characters Abigail and Joseph - can I have him? LOL The other people in the story are quite interesting too. The author ties everything together beautifully. The antagonistic ex got on my nerves, but he was supposed to. Great job Ms. Marquette. You know I love your work. As long as you keep writing them, I'll keep reading them! I'm ready for the next one. Bring it on!

A story full of emotion, lust and life
Who said 'Love' was ever simple? Certainly not the stories main characters Abigail and Joseph. Joseph has loved Abigail for many years, watching her through her failing relationships, watched her suffering, being the friendly shoulder to cry on while he longs for her. Abigail fragile from life, her mother ran down by a drunken driver, she was raped at college, many failed relationships, seems to be unaware of his feelings. Will they ever get it together? Not if the ex, Darre, has his way, he seems to do what he can to get in between them, even using his dead mother as a reason to get back together.
Love shines through as they finally allow themselves to cross the friendship line, but for how long? Can Joseph stop feeling that he is competing against the 'ex'? Can Abigail finally admit to herself and Joseph that she really does love him? Even their friends and close-knit family all know, yet it appears that the two of them are blinded from the fact. Then a twist.......
A story full of emotion, lust and life, the author describes each character in a great way and you become familiar with their personalities, wants and desires. At times you may feel that you would like to bang both their heads together to make them realise how they really feel! One very slight negative was at times overcoming the characters native speech although the story itself works well with this. An enjoyable and exciting read!!
