"It strikes you like a bolt of lightning, after the sky has grown dark with terror! It takes you on a journey through the dark regions of the human psyche - a truly unforgettable, heart palpatating read."

These stories can easily be considered fables or parables - yet they do have a horrific point of view that will chill your soul.  Take a journey through a suspenseful world of horror and psychological suspense - a journey you will never forget!I'm not sure if this is my personal favorite or not, but it's the book that seems to be most interesting to the general public. However, if your into satire, drama, and just a tinge of horror you can try "The Face and Other Fantastic Tales."

Excerpt

Title: The Virtuoso

Now as I write this little account of my musical education, I distinctly remember how on a bleak December night, while I played my beloved Paganini's Caprice in A minor, I looked over at my teacher, who was sitting at the piano in his drawing room, listening attentively to my every heartfelt note, when his face suddenly changed to that of Satan's himself. I of course thought that I was losing my mind, that this superimpostion of Satan's face over the face of my violin teacher was merely a phantasm of my distraught mind. Since I knew the Caprice in A minor as well as I knew the lines of fate that ran through the palms of my hands, I was able to discern that a cold breeze was circling the room and that it swung the Chinese Lanterns, which hung decorously about the room. I also remember how their light became lurid, and how the shadows, which they cast, danced to the melodies which issued forth from the strings of my violin.

I walked home that night from my teacher's house and wondered if I was losing my mind. I now feared for my sanity, as I knew that there was but a scant line separating genius from madness. Had I overstepped that boundary? Of this I could not be certain.

Ron Dondiego's, "Fables and Other Oddities of The Imagination"

is an extraordinary collection of short stories which have a valuable teaching and message in them. I was totally awestruck as I read each story. He really opened my eyes and mind to a reality I'd never thought of. Even though classified as fiction, this collection has so much truth in there. His first story would make a wonderful children's book and even a great show for the family. I loved the way each was written, not only as a story, but as a page in a diary. They cover just about everything a mind can imagine: from hauntings, to Hell, to Heaven, to love to hate, to perfect worlds, to the everyday world. Some bordering the apocalypse, some fantasy, while others explore the world beyond. Excellent book that I could not put down. I highly recommend,

"Fables and Other Oddities of The Imagination" as a must read to readers of sixteen and older. Thank You so very much Ron for this intriguing look inside your mind's eye and bringing so much forth to mine. I have all of your currently published books and can hardly wait to look further inside your mind and heart. Exquisite!! Amazing!! Remarkable!!

I was reading "The Cold Wind" on the Writers Club Press website. This is one book I need to pick up; that story alone is one reason to pick up this collection. Ron is a talented horror writer and this book is a collection of memorable short stories that would have a style similar to Edgar Allan Poe. This is darker than The Face and Other Fantastic Tales. If you like that book of Ron's pick up give this book a read. I will need to pick up a copy when I finish "Wicked Twist of Fate" I am waiting for that book to arrive as I speak. I am surprised this book wasn't nominated for a Bram Stoker award, "The Cold Wind" alone should of been nominated for this award.

Ike the excerpt - shades of Dean Koontz or Stephen King, perhaps (two of my favorites). Wonderful descriptives!
