On a Sunday evening Charles 'Sonny' Harrison was ripped from his mothers womb weighing a mere 983 grams. By his third day of life his sickly frame tipped the scales at 1lbs 8 oz. His mothers wedding ring fit loosely on his thigh. Come and share this brutally honest and heartwarming story with the Harrison family!
Excerpt
My husband, Charles, stood like stone. Fear and confusion overwhelmed his features as he looked from one direction to the next. He looked at me with tearfull eyes, Should he stay with his sick and terrified wife who he knew for so long? Then his eyes fell upon the tiny incubator to the left in the hall. His heart ached as he did not know which way to go. Should he stay with his wife, or go with this his tiny, deathly ill, son; who may die in his arms.
Like an Angel the nurse called unto Charlie and gently tugged at his sleeve, "Come with me and meet your son. He needs you now. Your wife will be fine."

What J.C. Pinkerton from ChildrenandLiterature.com has to say:
Our Biggest Little Hero has got to be the "preemie" book of all times. If you've given birth to a preemie baby or know someone who has you can't afford to not read this book. Susie Harrison and her family's life were suddenly turned upside down when her precious baby boy was born too soon. You'll have to read the book to find out about the ups and downs of little Sonny and his parents. You'll find out that one day in our life is rather simple compared to what a preemie baby goes through just to survive the next 24 hours. You'll walk away from this book having found a talented author and find yourself eager for the next SusieQ book to come out.

I know 'I couldn't put it down' is a bit of a cliche now in literary circles, but how else could one describe a novel that is so well written with feeling.
We all hear about troublesome births and premature babies, and I feel that this book really wrenches at the heartstrings with feelings that have hit most of us at one time or another. But, having said that, I would not only recommend this book for its content, but the expert quality of the writing.
The Hero? In the story, I feel both Mother and Child, in reality, Susie.
Very well done Susie, and thank you for an excellent read.*********

Dear Susie,
The excerpt is riveting. I was left wondering how the 'little hero' came out. May God bless your efforts.
