The Goddess and The Skylark, Dancing Through the Word Labyrinth

What is the world of goddesses and skylarks?
Nordette Adams releases her new CD with critically-acclaimed poet Aberjhani,
The Goddess and The Skylark, Dancing Through the Word Labyrinth: Presented by Rahkyt

From the storefront ...

The Goddess and The Skylark, Dancing Through the Word Labyrinth: Presented by Rahkyt and featuring Nordette Adams and Aberjhani
The aural fusion of poetic throw-downs, jazz pronouncements, hip hop beat phrasings, and griotechtronic musicianship that comprise the artistry of “The Goddess and The Skylark, Dancing through the Word Labyrinth,” makes this CD something more than just one more venture into spoken word. To begin with, check out the fact that there are no empty space pauses in between spits of pure flame on this 46-minute set. Instead of silence greeting the end of the 18 recitations presented here, the listener moves from one slam to the next on a bridge of verbal meditations shared between spoken word poets Nordette Adams and Aberjhani along with the musical utterances of producer Rahkyt. The result is one courageous non-stop fascinating flight through the highs and lows our new-millennium times and souls. (Front cover GODDESS AND SKYLARK art by Mark Rockeymoore.)

Excerpt

From Twilight of Kisses
Written and Performed By Nordette Adams

You remind me
of tiny diamonds on the Ivory Coast, handfuls of splendor
slipped through my fingers,
and the Atlantic's muted roar against shore of my dreaming heart
breaking wise to eternity
without a man like you.

You remind me
of the one big break to land on Broadway blown,
a young girl sleeping late but dreaming she sings,
a broken clock seals fate in suburbia's sterile coffin.

Jets scream,
startling illusions over a field of halos,
angels faces upturned, gold, sigh an unrelenting dirge.

See how he fades from her.
See how he fades into weeping.

That I was able to participate in such an inspired project with two of the most gifted human beings I have ever known makes me one of the luckiest people on this planet.

To a successful marketing venue, Mark, Nordette, and Aberjhani. The Goddess and The Skylark are the voices of our millenium, optimistic about the next thousand years and will have a tremendous impact on emotions emphasized through spoken word poetry, a poetic maze of integrity that draws from human spirit and surfaces in the midst of diversity. I am totally convinced you three are highly likely to lure an award for THE GODDESS AND THE SKYLARK, DANCING THROUGH THE WORD LABYRINTH. May the message boards let you chime in with kudos!!

With kindred spirit and interpretation of the labyrinth,
Love, Sage
