Keri's idea of adventure is a good book or a movie, but when the Air Force goes overboard investigating the crash of two meteorites in the mountains behind the facility where she works, adventure takes on new meaning. First she and her friend, Kathy, help two fugitive aliens (who just happen to have sent threatening coded messages to Earth) to escape the Air Force. Then the girls take the ride of their life in the men's space vehicles. Kathy's is destroyed and Keri travels alone to a strange, harsh world where she must defend Earth at a trial and fight for the life of the man who brought her there. Can the love they share give them both enough strength to survive and win in spite of incredible odds?

Alien Melding, July 17, 2007
By Viviane Crystal (New York, USA) -
Keri and Kathy have just begun work at an Earth-to-space telecommunications facility. It's opening day and all seems to be running in sync with the grand opening ceremonies until Keri begins to notice some abnormal transmission characters that can't be explained with filter errors or beginning glitches of the new program.
Intriguing exploration leads both workers to realize that they've picked up a message about another species' plans to destroy earth. Just as they are about to report their discovery, a supposed "meteor" strikes the earth not far from their site and the Air Force is on top of the location, inhabitants and workers.
Ready to cooperate to ward off the impending threat, Kathy and Keri are diverted by finding two aliens named Winoc and Feldi, the first who has come to Earth to find out what happened to some missing companions and who wants to prevent his own people from destroying the Earth.
To say more would give away a tension-filled, complex plot with sub-plots that dramatically picks up and speeds the reader through space attacks, amnesia, crippling injuries, the non-human prejudice against "broken" outcasts, the human and non-human excessive pride that borders on insanity and relentlessly pursues an evil goal, and the experiences that lead not only to alien "sex" but deeper intimacy that can connect the most different species.
Between Two Worlds is a riveting read, and Janice Dietert truly knows how to spin a sci-fi, fantasy novel that will make you eagerly wait for her every novel and deeply care about the finely crafted adventurous and passionately real stories she crafts.
Movie producers, pay attention here for some vivid imagery, intricately woven plot development and a captivating, unique story that would thrill viewers, as well as readers, on the screen.
Terrific Ms. Dietert!
