Snowfield Autumn is a life journey set in poetic format dealing with life's trivialities, trauma, love, drug addiction, domestic violence, beauty of nature and heart tugging moments.
The title Snowfield Autumn is a moment of wonder upon finding a pristine patch of snow whilst walking through an autumn forest thence coming upon a clearing with the snow in the middle of a field of flowers encrusted with ice. This to me encompasses each poem included in this work of art.
Excerpt
Sunrise
in the stillness
a loon calls
breaker of dawn
she gleams in the sky cresting the mountainous peaks
I am overcome with the beauty
of the colors streaming upon the underbelly of the clouds
her bright rays cascade upon the Earth as she raises her fiery head
a hawk spies a rodent and dives downward on the hunt
the morning dew glitters on a spider's web caught in the underbrush
