This book Presents a detailed description showing the influence of the Oxford Group movement upon the lives of children. It consists of Stories told by parents of their children finding and being directed by God. It has true stories of Children's spiritual experience. How they achieved their spiritual experience and what others can do to achieve it for themselves.
Inspired children was written 75 years ago by Olive M. Jones, Formerly President Of the National Education Association.
Miss Jones tells explicity and with a wealth of illustration how to make religion real to children. "Self-exprerssion without God is selfishness; but self expression, God guided is character" says Miss Jones in stating the theme of this book.
This was the first experiment in religious education based on the principles of Christ as practiced and taught by the Oxford Groups. It proved to be an outstanding success, Sam Shoemaker, in his introduction stated " They are the happiest children whom I have ever known".
The movement continues on a limited basis, and most of it's basic principles and procedures live on in the 12 Steps of A.A. and other Programs. Unfortunately most of the 12 step programs focus on adult issues.
The intention of Healing-Habits.com is to bring to the public a proven methodology of teaching children how to find God and be guided by him in their everyday life

Excerpt
Temper is an undesirable attribute children manifest early and with no known cause except self will.
Lying-No problem in the home is generally so mishandled as children’s “lies” as parents erroneously call them. Often a child is converted into a genuine and habitual liar because parents and teachers fail to trace the source of what seems to be lies or increase the habit by wrong methods of correction.
The source in a little child is usually imagination.
The first purpose of the book is to show that spiritual reality is possible for children. Unless it begins in childhood, it is learned and obtained only through suffering and struggle.

Learning about God
Learning about God, January 29, 2011

This review is from: Inspired Children (Paperback)
Originally written by Olive M. Jones and reprinted by Tuchy Palmierei, "Inspired Children" is a collection of stories that is truly inspiring. It tells of the innocence of children as they learn about God and develop in his love. From the very beginning of the book, when author, Olive M. Stone shared her experience and growing understanding of the needs of children to have a moral base and an understanding of religion, I knew the book was written from the heart. The stories show how the children came to the understanding of God on their own and it is as relevant today as it was then.

"Inspired Children" is a book that every parent should read with their children. It is a reprint of a book originally written by Olive M. Stone and reprinted by Tuchy Palmieri. The stories are of several children that were part of the Oxford Group Movement and how they reacted when they learned about God. Well written and beautiful - as is the innocence of children. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that needs a little bit of God's inspiration and to all parents to read with their children.

This review is from: Inspired Children (Paperback)
Although "Inspired Children" is a reprint of a book written decades ago, it is as meaningful today as it was when it was first written by Olive M. Stone. The stories are simple, inspiring and moving as they tell of the way the children felt and acted when they learned about God. Tuchy Palmieri once again has brought us a book that would have been lost to current day readers. It is a book that should be shared by parents and children and is a wonderful way to open a dialogue about God and faith.

You don't need to corporally abuse a child, just treat hi/her with indifference as the child search for parent's intimacy.
But yes, there are corporal abuse by beating the child because they can't control the rage against their own private frustrations.
The child create barriers, walls, a secret world were he retreats, where he can talk, and smile, a world that he will defend with lies and explanations, and also becoming to an adulthood as a damaged goods.
Children will ask God for help...and will not understand His silence.
