Lulu Grab Issue Five Here
Featuring some of the most talented small press authors in the realms of horror, science fiction, and Non-fiction.
The authors in issue five included are listed below, and their fiction this issue are the most transgressive of the magazine so far and this is the darkest issue to date. Cover illustrations by Alex Rivera, and Photography is performed by myself, and the nonfiction story is exclusive from me in this issue -- The Pattern of Diagnosis. (As of this update, it got picked up for an east coast run on Dark Gothic: Resurrected Fall Issue. I am the only non-fiction author and traditional horror writer represeted in that one. I sent the story to the editor as a complete afterthought asking if she would take non-fiction -- so the rest of this is history. Pattern will remain a print exclusive story but one that will be widely distributed via underground hang outs. You can read this magazine for free at a location that is moving -- the venue is XO Underground. Details about the place are found at http://www.xounderground.com. I am doing a contest right now that stemmed off this story. The fifth issue almost didn't happen the way it did -- in fact if I didn't lose every story in December 2006 this would have been an entirely different issue.) Of all the issues of the magazine that have been put out this one is the most diverse in the line up. Features Chicago's own author, Steven Morgan, author of Death's Doorstep. Three of the authors in this one were also published in Tabloid Purposes 3, so you can see what they can do in here -- Lawrence wrote a horror story this time around and so did Zahid Zaman. Both authors had been around in the small press for quite some time and one of them got featured in Atomicjack Magazine, and like myself he is also featured in Tales of the Talisman. Be looking for me on Issue Two of The Literary Bone. Some of the writers in this issue came from the circuit that is FictionPress.com. This is where you get to see Andrew Boughton make his print debut.
Zahid Zaman (He appeared on the Cyberpulp anthologies and in Tabloid Purposes 3. Lead author here.)
Lawrence Dagstine (Tales of the Talisman 3.1, Tabloid Purposes 3)
Brent Petretti
Steven Morgan (Another of Chicago's very own here -- check out IGNORE.)
Thomas Matthews
Alex Rivera (appears in Tabloid Purposes IV, Issue 3, and Tabloid Purposes 3 as the closing story.)
Mark Hill
Sarah Williams (From FanFiction.net -- Edgar Allan Poe)
Sean Benedik (From FanFiction.net -- Edgar Allan Poe)
Kevin James Hurtack (Withersin Birth Issue 1.1. I am on there with him.)
Mark D. Rogers
John C. Marcotullio (Double Jeopardy is the preview story here in its entirely.)
Andrew Boughton (from FictionPress.com originally -- making his print debut)
Wayne Summers
Cheryl Mccreary (originally supposed to be in the Class of 1994 anthology)
David Wright

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
Loved the last volume of horror tales, the one where my twin sister was featured among the writers. I still enjoy it! :) |
