A delightful read for children of all ages. This collection of lyrical poetry tells stories that everyone can relate to. They are fun to read aloud and easy to remember. Moms, Dads, Grandmothers, Grandfathers, everyone will love to read them at bedtime or anytime. I am dedicating a portion of each book sold to the Kiwanis/UNICEF AIDS Project.

This book has been put together as a fundraiser for the Kiwanis/UNICEF AIDS Project in the Caribbean, where AIDS has now reached the pandemic stage. It is the hope of Kiwanis/UNICEF to raise one million dollars over 2008/09/10 to go into this project and help those children who are in desperate need of assistance. The Kiwanis motto is "one child at a time" and with support they will accomplish their goal. I have written, illustrated and self-published this book, of which a portion of every book sold goes to the AIDS Project. I believe this little book can make a difference for these children!

Making A New Friend
There’s a whole in the knee of his pants I see
As he sits on the bench all alone by the tree
I just moved here – maybe he did too
It’s not easy to make friends when you’re new.
Some of the kids said he lives next door
And he won’t play with them, they want to play war
Well that’s not the way it’s going to be
I’ll ask him if he wants to play with me.
His name is Tim – and he seems really sad
Then he tells me how much he misses his Dad
A brave soldier, his father went off to fight
To help out strangers – try to make things right.
Now I see why to him it’s no game
Even pretending to fight is a shame
So we’re going over to my house for now
Maybe having a good friend will help him somehow.
