Pure adrenaline-filled fun that flits between two worlds, offering lessons on the importance of friendship and loyalty.
Viridia is the final book of the Behold the Eye trilogy, which introduced the world to four best friends on the cusp of becoming teens and their adventures as they flutter between two worlds—one, a destination they reach through dream travel, the other, the place they call home.
In this adventure ripe with humor and parable, Vickie Sutton falls into a coma and disappears. Only a few months later, her oldest friend Tricia Jones falls into a coma as well. As their friends Karen and Cathy try to put two and two together, Vickie will join forces with Micah and Shanti and head to Viridia, the Land of the Green Eyes, in order to find her way home—through the land of dreams. Ages 9-12.

Behold the Eye: Viridia, the final installment of this very thrilling trilogy, is just as fantastic, suspenseful and wonderful as Behold the Eye: Braumaru and Cerulea! We open again with a letter to Vickie’s local librarian, not only addressing this current book, but the previous two books and she explains her feelings regarding the last letters sent regarding this tale. The reader will find the Roland’s daughter, Rhonda, is determined to find and assist her father, as feel victim to the very trap he had originally set for Vickie in the previous installment. However, not only is Roland stuck in this bizarre ‘dream house’, but so is Tricia; Vickie’s best and closest friend. The story is also peppered with articles regarding children that have mysteriously gone missing, to be explained later of course!
Now that Tricia is trapped, she has not yet figured out exactly what has happened is exactly what occurred to Vickie, and that there is more going on with her physical being. However, being the personality she is, she does not give up trying to get out of the ‘dream house’ she is stuck in.
Back at home, Vickie’s mother has connected with the one person that could help her and believe her regarding her daughter’s disappearance. She finally has some hope to recover her lost daughter. Vickie’s other two friends make the choice to discipline themselves to not just help the two friends, but themselves as they fear they can be next to suffer what they have witnessed with their group. However, as they practice ‘dream travel’, they encounter Rhonda at the very ‘dream house’ they expect to find their friend! The three then decide it would be best to work together to find their missing loved ones.
Vickie and her new friends make their way to the ‘land of the green eyes’ known as Viridia, and encounter some very interesting events when they arrive. Luckily, before any harm can occur to them, they are taken in by new green-eyed friends that have the knowledge they need to help Vickie arrive home.
Just as in the previous works, Behold the Eye: Viridia continues with conflict, emotions, suspense, action and mystery. All characters in this tale are well-detailed, so the reader can easily interpret the behavior, feelings, motives and actions of each person even before it may be stated. There is indeed a hidden meaning or two behind this story and with the characters, so if you find it then the story will resonate even more with you – whatever your age! |
