It has long been said that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach", well, that being so, Kim Reutzel has found a way to a man's heart and soul through "Kissing and Cooking."
Unlike many self-help books, the author has put her life's experience and her professional experience into a great book that doesn't preach "I know what's best for everyone." Instead she has added "snippets" from her life to give the reader a practical guide that she advises them they can reject if it won't work for them.
Reutzel presents the reader with the theories that deliver the goods. The principles she sets out for the reader are bolstered by Biblical Quotes, but even without the Christian backdrop, this book should be on every couple's wish list. However don't be fooled into thinking that this is strictly a book for married, engaged or even almost committed couples. This book is for everyone who comes in contact with another human being or animal because the advice is that good and that universal.
Along with the theory, Reutzel assigns couples things to do together and apart that will help them spice up their romance, deepen their commitment, and remind them of why they became a couple to begin with. Something too many of us forget in our busy daily lives.
Even as I was reading Kissing and Cooking, I was making plans to send copies to each of my children and a few of my friends. Not because I think their relationships are in trouble, but because I think they could reach a new depth of intimacy and a greater understanding of each other than they ever thought possible.
