With regard to you latest history book-
In my opinion, you have an excellent mixture of facts that are backed with interesting source materials and related pictures. I particularly found the abstract written by William Gillean about his participation in the Civil War interesting and informative.
Your source materials and pictures are very good both in quality and information value. I think you are fortunate that earlier generations have taken such good care of their family pictures. Wish I could say the same for mine!!
It's so obvious that you are telling the story of your heritage and not just presenting names and dates. Major Joel Henry Dyer for example - even without knowing his everyday routine one can't help but feel like you know him.
The overall appearance of your work is really good. It should attract anyone who I don't know if you had any intention of trying to attracting Civil War "Buffs" but there is a lot of good material for anyone doing research on Civil War Issues. ( just a thought)
Take care
Ronny
