For master magician Aaron Steen, one obstacle to ultimate power remains.
For his victims there is only despair and madness.
The rites of blood begin…

The human mind is without limits, transcending the boundaries of logic and science. This, magicians have long known as they walk amongst us, exercising unseen power.
For beyond time and space, beyond the perception of logic and mathematics lies a universe of infinite wonder, accessible only to adepts.
Based on three decades of study, The Aquarius Key narrates the rise of a modern day magician as he is pursued by those who seek to destroy him and usurp his legacy.

A randomly selected excerpt...

Kadmon mockingly gestured towards the open door of the lounge. Bill shook his head and banged his fist on the table in frustration. He felt dizzy and disoriented again.
‘What the hell have you done to me Kadmon?’ he spat, ‘and where the hell is my brother?’
Kadmon erupted in irritation and frustration. ‘Haven’t you listened to one word I’ve been telling you? I don’t know where your brother is and I need your help to find him.’ He was desperate to convince Bill, and decided to try another tactic. He’d taken a severe risk in feeding him even more of the hallucinant, but time was short and he had to succeed. ‘Listen; let’s get back to your story, to the nightmares and the lost time you’ve suffered lately.’
Bill felt the hair on the nape of his neck rise as images of his nightmare visions formed again in his mind’s eye. He instinctively shook his head, raised his hands as a barrier against horror. Kadmon ignored him and continued. ‘The first experience you had of the supernatural was some three weeks ago, when you woke as a point of disembodied consciousness and imagined that you were paralyzed or dead...’
Bill shot to his feet. A cold clammy sweat streamed down his back like rivulets of liquid nitrogen, burning his flesh with gelid trails of fear. ‘How the hell could you know that…?’ This was the second time Kadmon had presented him with the contents of his own nightmare, but he was still intimidated and stunned by the impossible revelation.
‘Calm down,’ Kadmon urged him. His voice was gentle now, projecting balm and protection. ‘I was there, watching over you,’ he said, ‘as I have always watched over you.’
Bill despairingly buried his head in his hands. ‘Please…I just want some straight answers,’ he pleaded.
Kadmon squeezed his shoulder sympathetically. Bill shivered at the touch.
‘I know this is tough,’ Kadmon whispered. ‘For years, I myself sought the bearer of the key without the slightest success until Peter was recruited by Kratz, and you came to my attention.’
‘That isn’t consistent Kadmon. What is this bloody key that you insist is the point of all this? And why haven’t you attempted to contact me before now?’
‘Because Bill, my occult function is that of a guardian. That’s why I appeared in your life only at the uttermost end of need - when no one else could assist you.’
‘Then how the hell could you have known where I was when I killed Qadish? And if you did know, why the hell did you allow me to kill the poor woman?’
Kadmon banged on the table with a cup, abruptly silencing him. ‘One question at a time please,’ he demanded.
Bill restrained himself from a further uncontrolled outburst only with difficulty.
After a pause, Kadmon continued. ‘Firstly,’ he said, ‘and as I have already told you, my present incarnation is the latest in the long, long life of my spirit. It has been my choice to return again, with the specific purpose this time of assisting mankind through the crisis brought about by the appearance of the Book of the Law. More specifically, it is my mandate to ensure that the master key of the Book of the Law does not fall into the hands of the spiritual enemies of mankind.’
‘And just who the hell are they?’ Bill spat venomously, ‘The creatures from planet X?’
‘My friend, it is well known even among Christians, that when God announced the creation of man, the heavens were riven with protest and discord. There were and there still are, many potent spiritual forces that fear and detest mankind. As for what an unscrupulous demagogue could achieve in this politically volatile age…’
Kadmon paused and shook his head. ‘When you were magically attacked ten days ago,’ he continued, ‘I became aware of a most potent evil, a force of disruption moving across the planes.’
‘And then?’
‘Three weeks ago, you were going about your worldly affairs in the usual way, when you woke to the nightmare of dislocation from the physical world. It was precisely at that time that I felt a spiritual shock such as I have never experienced before. I immediately sought you out, moving first to what is commonly known as the astral plane.’
‘Astral plane..?’
‘Yes, the astral plane. It’s a spiritual level of the universe that exists as a finer form of matter. It’s a basic tenet of Magick that an adept may, by causing change in the astral world, effect changes in the physical world. Some of the experiences people recall as dreams are in fact experiences of the astral world.’
Bill shook his head in confusion.

Professional Reviews
This one could keep you awake for days
I initially purchased this book on impulse, being somewhat captivated by the cover artwork; and whilst I don't normally bother with 'occult' material, most of it being derivative, superficial nonsense, this one scared the hell out of me. The author seems to have a solid knowledge of physics as well as Qabbala, and melds science with mysticism at every turn.
The characters and the powers they wield seem all too plausible as the action unfolds through past and present and future. But maybe the book's greatest quality is not it's (rather original) storyline, but its immense attention to detail through some awesomely narrated scenes of ceremony and terror.
If you're going to read The Aquarius Key, throw away any preconceptions you have about magicians and hope to god you don't ever bump into one on a dark night - this could keep you awake for days.

Odyssey Reviews

Keith Rowley; "The Aquarius Key"

Sue and Bill Williams live normal contented lives: Sue is a handsome woman in love with her husband, and Bill, a successful, hard-driving businessman. In the blink of an eye, everything changes. They are thrown into a reality where they come face-to-face with true evil. People they’ve known and trusted for years suddenly become their greatest peril—and neither of them would have ever guessed that they would play an integral role in bringing evil into their world. Bill not only discovers that an occult group is responsible for this madness, but that his brother Peter is part of it all.

I never give the 5-medallion rating easily; however every blue moon you come across a book that just knocks your socks off for the quality of writing and the complexity and magnetism of the story. I’ve stumbled onto one right here. The Aquarius Key is in my opinion, the technical standard to which all self-published authors should aspire. The writing is clean and as sharp as a blade and the story tight and cohesive, with that incredible pull that makes you wish your day would go faster so you can go home and read it some more.

There are some scenes of a violent sexual nature in this book, as well as other themes that are appropriate for adult readers only. This book touches on the darker nature of the occult and esoteric practices that may not be palatable to certain people. I will openly admit that many parts of this book just screeched right over the top of my head; I claim no great knowledge of the esoteric practices, nor do I pretend to understand it all in great depth; however the well-researched glimpses Mr. Rowley paints of the ceremonies and teachings of Kabbalah and magic were vivid and enlightening. He showed with credibility what a fine line it can be between good and evil, using fiction, history, science and fact in a graceful dance of words.

Keith Rowley introduces the reader to the dark history of Aleister Crowley, to the Thelemic texts, and to the darker side of the practices. He follows the spiritual schooling of a young Peter throughout the book, giving his reader a cursory edification into the practices of magic. It was fascinating but the flow of information was a bit overwhelming at times, which is the only criticism I have of this book.

I give The Aquarius Key five medallions. It is an excellent read; and I recommend it to anyone who likes an intelligently presented novel and a thrilling, hair-raising story.

Sure to leave a lasting impression - Darque Reviews
Instructed by Levi Kratz to excel in Qabalistic Magick, Peter Williams quickly achieves the goals set before him in preparation for the future. Years later he finds himself at the center of those who pursue the Aquarius Key, and realizes that the power he’s gained may not be enough to save his family.

Bill Williams has put in long years to raise his business to the success it currently enjoys, but the steady life he leads is about to change. What appears to be memory lapses and hallucinations plague Bill’s every waking hour. Then the unthinkable happens. His wife, Sue, has been involved in a bizarre sexual assault that she’s kept hidden from him, and Bill’s been put into the position where he believes himself to be a murderer. Their stable lives are spinning out of control, and there’s little hope of stopping the events already set in motion.

The Aquarius Key: A Novel of the Occult is a fictional story based in part on the writings of Aleister Crowley and those who share similar practices and beliefs. Mr. Rowley presents readers with an intriguing tale that delves into the darker side of Magick where science and mathematics are merely stepping stones to a higher plane of existence. While there are instances of ritualistic sex and rape that may be disturbing to some readers, the events are kept to a minimum and serve a purpose to the overall story. The Aquarius Key is well-written and shared in a way that readers with little knowledge in Magick or Qabalah will have no real trouble following. This story is sure to leave a lasting impression. *The beautiful cover art is done by Hettie Rowley.

This book is a stunning, fast-moving occult thriller in which everyday people--like any of us--are suddenly swept into a world of ritual Magick. The detail gives the reader the impression that such things really happen or could be happening already. I really enjoyed this book and it was a pleasure posting a 5-star review of it on Amazon.
