Omegas Blessing
Like the transmutation of the world by man
So goes the dwindling time of civilization
Until—one day, I find myself, single handedly
Facing the years of survival—approaching.
I walk about the lands—and
Looking for the clear fluid of life
So, that I, my body—might anoint
In order to survive another eon.
From dusk till dawn, in darkness—searching
To keep shade, coolness—upon my cage
Struggling to find a watery sluice
To refresh the hard scales of my skin.
It has been years—long past
Since I last saw others—like myself
It was a morbid state of affairs, when—
The world became—anhydrous.
And now—I too—glowing with fear
Seeking moisture, dew, water—everywhere—
Have come to find, the last channel
Hoping to find others—like myself.
