While progress is being made in wireless mobile devices, speech interfaces and intelligent software, the construction of an Intelligent Wireless Web requires the integration of advances in many disparate fields. There is need for clarifying the "Big Picture" of how the many and varied fields of study fit together - where they touch, where they cooperate and where they conflict.

As new intelligent products and applications become available, the Web appears to become smarter, or at least more productive. But whether or not the Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs being applied over the Web are truly intelligent (i.e., actually think), or merely smart, they will never the less prove to be very useful when they can be delivered to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Web Architecture - to transition from dumb and static applications to new applications that are intelligent, dynamic and constantly improving.
