Eric reached into his pocket. His fingers tingled when they touched his enchanted leaf. He could talk to animals when he wished on it. He and his parents had passed a beaver pond hiking to the campsite. Maybe he would go talk to the beavers. If he saw one of those big bad wolves he heard about in stories, he could wish himself away from it.
