Excerpt
How could he reveal to her that he was accompanying the Mafia to provide entertainment for them in Acapulco? This was going to be the final assignment that would free him from his obligations to them. He had been married to one of the line dancers at the Flamingo Casino. They were madly in love, and after a couple of years of marriage, his wife, Susan, had gotten pregnant. She had been so happy planning for the baby. One of the Mafia’s sons, Nick Breeze had started frequenting the Flamingo and became overzealous with Susan. She tried her best to fend off his venerations toward her by explaining that she was happily married to Darren, but that didn’t lessen his obsession for her. At the time, Darren was working for the MGM as the evening manager of the casino. Nick had a previous run in with Darren because he had too much to drink one night and caused havoc with the customers and staff. It resulted in Darren having him escorted out of the casino. When Nick found out that Susan was married to Darren, his semantics worsened. Harassing her even more, he waited for her after the shows and insisted she join him for drinks and dinner. He saw he wasn’t making any progress, therefore, one evening he waited for her in the parking lot, grabbed, and kissed her. She made a big fuss and slapped him, which embarrassed him in front of his men. She didn’t want to tell Darren because she knew he would be upset. Whenever Susan left the building, she made certain co-workers or security accompanied her to the car. One evening Nick followed her, cut her off the road, forced her out of the car, and drove off with her to a sleazy motel outside of Vegas. He slapped her around, when she wouldn’t cooperate with him. He ended up raping her and practically beating her to death.
