Fiction

From a smoke filled speakeasy to a cavern's stone walls, Father Was A Caveman is the fact-based story of an American family living in small town and rural America from the mid 1920s to 1941, the beginning of World War II. The book is filled with stories of family life during a simpler time when life revolved around the family, the church, and the one room schoolhouse; when radio was king, and the sight of an airplane was a novelty.

When Burrel Harman moves from his home near Seneca Caverns in West Virginia to Newark, Ohio, he meets a beautiful dark haired flapper and a lovely blond “old fashioned girl.” One becomes his wife, the love of his life, and the other remains on the fringes of his life as a bitter enemy.

He and his bride’s life together takes them from her home in Ohio to his in West Virginia where he fulfills his lifetime dream to be a ”caveman.” While he faces danger on an almost daily basis, he has no foreboding of how close he is to losing his life or life as he knows it.
