Like an unwelcome stork, he arrived with a baby for her.
Elaina answers the door and discovers a tall, tired doctor on her porch, with an 11-month-old baby whose ailing mother has apparently entrusted to her care. Since Elaina knows nothing about babies, she's forced to enlist the help of Dr. Brad Bradshaw, who does know about them.
Trouble is, he knows about women, too, how to seduce them, even when they don't want to be seduced, and he doesn't want to seduce them.
As this pair team up to care for little Betsy until her mother recovers, they both learn things they never expected to learn, about sharing, caring, committing...and loving.

"Sweet Lainie," Brad murmured, his fingers sliding into the softness of her hair. "I should run like hell, shouldn't I? But all I want to do is kiss you.
"Yes," Elaina said. She was tired of running away.
"Yes, what?" His smile hovered just above her lips. "Yes, I should run? Or yes, I should kiss you?"
She drew a deep breath. It was filled with his secnt and made her dizzy. "I understand running, if you're not used to it, can cause heart attacks. Better not take any unnecessary risks."
