~INTRODUCTION~
For years I have been writing articles and books on general self-development topics such as happiness, motivation, personal growth, success, self-actualization and such. But, it always seems that I like to write too many words, long over-complicated sentences, and rambling paragraphs, and would even lose my own place in editing the pages of words. My head is always full of ideas that I don’t always know how to express, but trying seems to be far better than not.
My real mission in life has been to wrap my arms around the mounting chaos, overload and speed of change that is burying us all, and manage to simplify it into something that says what needs to be heard with as few words as possible. I have found that the more words I use to eliminate confusion, the more confusion I create. I have also found that the more I know, the less I have to say.
So in this spirit, I offer this little book of poems which represents my experiences and ideas on the seven most important lessons in life, summarized. Here is a simple poem that can serve as a quick and painless introduction to what I am trying to do here:
What We Do in Life
Find our purpose for being,
Growing past our pretending,
Becoming who we want to be;
Fixing realities we don’t like,
Creating better ones we want;
Learning lessons from failures,
Increasing our success column;
With lots of love and wisdom,
And very good use of our time,
Trying to solve life’s problems.
For ourselves and others.
