This book is about the absurd lengths the government has gone to since it began its policy of false flags to instill fear to get the people to give up Constitutional Rights for a false sense of security. This country, The US, has spent unbelievable amounts of money to set up highly visible, but mostly ineffective programs and agencies to create the appearance of security.
Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." This was never more true than today. The security and surveillance industries are out of control raking in huge profits for unneeded and unwanted invasions of our rights to privacy in the name of security.
Technically today in this country everyone is a suspected terrorist and everyone is in violation of the law. That is because of absurd legislation passed by elected officials who no longer work for the people who elected them but the bankers and the corporations.
I cannot emphasize strongly enough that with the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2012 anyone can be detained indefinitely without charges or trial and without any contact with the outside world. So if Dad goes to the store and buys the wrong things he could disappear and the government has no obligation to tell Mom that they have him. This book is a warning for Joe public that things have changed radically over the years since 2001 and you better be aware of those changes. Even the most harmless and innocent activity or purchases can get you buried in the system for an indefinite amount of time.
The government is creating a snitch society where they want everyone working for them and informing on everyone who does something suspicious. Clearly this leaves a lot of room for the wannabe detective or the vindictive neighbor to make your life hell. They are trying to instill an atmosphere of fear similar to that of WWII to take away your rights and to intimidate you into co-operation. Individual rights are under attack while corporate and banking controls are being removed at an alarming rate.
